Hey guys!! Welcome to my next book. I hope you enjoy it. Comment, like, and share and as always, feel free to let me know what you think. The book is going to be a mix of third and first person povs so I'll try to make it easy to keep up with. Thank you !!
3rd person pov
The Thompsons were a regular family. Lynn and George had two beautiful daughters, Nora and Madison. They were all about family and education and of course, giving their daughters the best life possible. Nora was a mommas girl and Madison was a daddy's girl and they sure milked the hell out of that when they wanted something.Nora was older by only 1 year although it didn't matter much since Madison was adopted at 3 years old. That in itself was just fact though, she never felt out of place or unloved or even loved less than Nora. Lynn and George were just those kinds of people, you could ask anyone in the community and they would say something along the lines of:
'Lynn and George, well they're just about sweet as cherry pie'
Just some good ol southern compliments which is what you get growing up in the small town of Albany, Georgia.
"Hi honey. The girls home from school yet?" George asked as he came inside.
"Not yet. Nora has tutoring and Madison said she would stay to finish a project. Nancy's mom will drop them off".
"Oh good".
"How was work?" Lynn asked as she followed him to the bedroom.
"Same old" he answered, kissing her and going to the closet to hang his suit jacket up.
"So the social worker called me today" Lynn said when he returned.
"She did. What for?"
"Said she wanted to talk to us so I told her I'd give her a call back when you got home. If you're up for it now".
"Sure thing. Call her" George said as Lynn nodded and picked up the phone.
"Hello" the women said joyfully answering the phone.
"Hi Sue, it's Lynn".
"Nice to hear from you again. George is there with you, yes?"
"Yes I am. How are you Sue?" George asked.
"Very well. I had something to propose to you both so just hear me out before you decide" she said as they shared a look then Lynn spoke
"Sure".
"So we have a kid who needs a foster home. He's 15 and this would be his fourth foster home since the beginning of the year" Sue started.
"My goodness it's only June" Lynn gasped.
"I know. It's a very sad situation. His mother has been in and out of rehabs and jails for years now and just can't seem to stay clean. He was transferred from Atlanta about a week ago".
"Transferred?" George questioned.
"Yes well, the boy is in juvy right now".
"For what?"
"Assault".
"Sue, we have two daughters" he said.
"I know and I understand your worry but I've spoken with him quite a few times and I don't think he's violent, he just got a bad wrap. I believe that a good family will help him a lot before he gets into more trouble".
"Who did he assault?" Lynn asked.
"His foster father. I don't know the specifics but it was a bad home and all the kids were removed after the incident".
