"Here enters the first daughter of the Duke, Rubia Von Agnus!"The white doors coated with glossy gold paint are opened by two maids dressed in black dresses. Silence falls over the ballroom as they direct their attention to the noble, catching their breaths with her unadulterated beauty. Thick Ruby locks fall to her lower back, curling up at the ends with bangs covering her forehead. She looks sickly, pale with red covering the knuckles of her fingers and the tip of her button nose. Eyelashes flutter gracefully with each blink, only emphasizing her narrowed pale yellow eyes. A doll, you would think she was.
Her dress is unique, unfitting to the fashion trends but might start a new one. A corseted top, pushing up her chest with embezzlement going along the hem. The bottom is skinny, and tight against her thighs, but loosens the lower it goes, forming a very short trail at her feet. It is bloody red, severely contradicting the white and black theme for the ball. She is a Ruby in a room full of diamonds.
Gustav is entranced, as much as he hated it. With a deep inhale, he releases Historia from his hold, much to her disliking. "Uhm, love? What are you-" interrupted by his hand in her face, she clenches her fist as she watches her prince make his way through the crowd.
"Ha. Of course, she attends her first ball dressed like a prostitute." Joseph snorts, grabbing his third glass of wine from a servant who is also entranced by Lady Rubia. His brother scoffs and peels his eyes away from his half-sister, instead watching Historia with worried eyes. There she stands, her teeth gritting against each other and her dress tearing from her nails digging into the expensive fabric, courtesy of her lover, Gustav. Tears sting her brown eyes as she watches him maneuver his way to the star of the show, her enemy.
The crowd makes way for Rubia, who is being assisted down the stairs and into the crowd by the prince. "Your dress is breathtaking. A close second to your face, my Lady." He mumbles, loud enough just for her to hear as they make their way through the crowd. Rubia makes no distinctive reaction. "I hope you do understand where I came from, doing what I did with Historia."
"I could care less about that peasant." Rubia monotonously replies, ignoring passing compliments and bows from the other attendees. The prince smirks before sneakily replying. "Spare me the lies, Rubia. I know-" The clack of her black kitten heels comes to a halt as she snatches her hand from the prince's grasp, shocking the guests. "Spare me the stupidity, Prince." Her voice booming and assertive, pivoting her body to completely face the prince. "I find no need to lie to someone as idiotic as you if you haven't yet noticed. My love for you is diminished and so has my respect, for you and your lowly concubine."
Gustav physically recoils at her tone before snapping back at her. "Don't you dare-!"
"No, don't you dare speak to me so informally, Prince." She scoffs and turns back to continue walking, pausing in her tracks to send a finishing blow. "You will address me as Lady Angus. Know your place."
A deathly silence bounces off of the ballroom walls, the sound of heels clicking against the floor only angering the prince further before he regains his composure. Fixing his suit and doing his best to keep his reputation intact. "Let this not damper our mood! Please, continue t-"
A bloodcurdling scream cuts through the speech, along with the running of everyone. Gustav, trying to comprehend the situation, was pulled away by his guards, the crowd diminishing quickly as Joseph and Bable quickly equip their swords, only to be met with the body of their half-sister laying on the floor, a sword pinning her to the blood-stained floor through her stomach.

My eyelids are heavy as I blink them open, greeted with a ceiling covered in vines and roses. The room is dark, and the bed I'm in is uncomfortable. Reluctantly, I sit up, ignoring the throbbing in my head as I do so. I wear a nightgown, white and slightly tattered. It pops in the dark red colors of the sheeting. I move the covers off of my unnaturally skinny and pale legs. Strange, it is. I don't remember being this... short? Or pale. I take a chance and stand, barely managing to catch myself from hitting the floor completely, taking a minute to steady and rid myself of nausea from standing.
