January 14th, 1968.

The day Jonah Parker was brought into the world. It had been a rough seventeen years, but today was the day he got to celebrate the fact he was growing older and making new changes in his life. It was freezing cold seeing as it was January, but Jonah didn't care. He loved having a winter birthday and nothing was going to change that.

Waking up, Jonah expected to have Jonathan laying beside him wishing the boy a happy birthday. But no. The bed was empty causing Jonah to frown. That was odd. Jonathan would always stay in bed and wait for Jonah to wake up before they got ready for the day. Jonah just shrugged it off and got out of bed, pulling on a hoodie and some sweats he found laying on the ground.

"Morning." Jonah greeted walking out of Jonathan's room and ruffling Wills hair as he sat at the table eating his breakfast.

"Morning honey." Joyce greeter kissing him on the forehead.

"Morning. Where's Jonathan?" Jonah questioned looking around the house. Joyce and Will shared a panicked look before looking back at Jonah.

"He uh, he's at work." Joyce stammered nodding her head frantically. Will nodded in agreement before taking a bite out of his waffle.

No happy birthday?

No big breakfast?

What was going on here?

Maybe Jonah was dreaming. No way Joyce of all people would forget about Jonahs birthday. Just a week ago she had marked it on the calendar. Jonah looked seeing that it was no longer there. Almost as if Joyce got a completely new calendar.

And Jonathan.

Why did Jonathan leave so sudden without saying anything? Not even a birthday wish?

Jonah felt a pang in his heart as he grabbed his jacket and shoes.

"You're not staying for breakfast?" Will asked frowning slightly.

"Uh, nah bud, I'm not that hungry. Joyce, could you tell Jonathan to call me when you get a chance?" Jonah replied trying to hide the voice crack which failed miserably honestly.

"Of course. Get home safe Jonah."

"Thanks." Once Jonah left the house Will glared at his mom.

"I didn't like that. I felt bad lying to him." He mentioned.

"Jonathan said we have to pretend like we didn't remember. I mean, you think it was easy for me to lie to him?"

"I guess not. B-But I still feel bad."

"I know you do honey," Joyce walked forward and pressed a kiss to her sons forehead. "Now finish up your breakfast before it gets cold."

*******
Jonah walked inside his house to be met with the sight of his father drinking beer on the couch. Rolling his eyes, Jonah was about to walk over to his room when Derek called for him.
