I woke up again slowly. Noticing the bright light above me but this time Harry wasn't standing. I couldn't see him.
I sat up to look around at my surroundings. My neon pink cast stuck out like a thumb but in a way I kinda liked it, pink was my favorite color anyways.
I saw that there was my neatly folder clothing on the side table next to the hospital bed that was strangely comfy.
I gazed towards the door and I saw the cot that a very large man was on. His feet hung off the end of the cot.
His curls were tussled in a messy way even though they still managed to keep their bounce.
His body was covered by a blue blanket that must have come from his house, not from the hospital.
I gazed towards the bright light that came out of the window. It must've been daylight outside. I looked for the remote to the TV, and it was on the bedside table along with keys and a cell phone that was clearly not mine.
I picked up the black phone that was just like mine. I clicked the circlular home button on the bottom of the screen and the entire screen lit up.
The background was a picture of Harry, and his cheecky grin, and a girl. I quickly flung the phone back to it's original place of the bedside table.
Oh no, my worst fear of him. He had a girlfriend. She was much prettier than me with her long, dark waves that had to reach her lower back. Her face was flawless.
I suddenly jumped and pretended t be asleep when Harry started moving around on the tiny cot.
I squeezed my eyes shut harder when I heard him get up and stand over me. He picked p his phone and his keys because I heard him rattle around.
I cautiously opened my eyes like I was waking up for the first time today.
"Harry do you have a girlfriend?" I bluntly stated. I must've startled him because he almost fell over because my voice was so sharp for being that I just woke up.
"Lindsey, why would you think that?" Harry questionly smiled. My cheeks began burning for the flawless way he said my name. Lindsey. Stupid cheeky grin of his. I can't lie to that.
"Harry I grabbed your phone and I saw a picture of you with a girl." I said as I looked towards the floor. "Lindsey, that's my sister Gemma."
I silently thought thank god.
I could feel the warmth spread through my cheeks. "Harry I'm really sorry that was really rude of me... We just met and you're a complete stranger. I'm not sure why you're even still here."
The words slipped out of my mouth with more of an attitude then I intended. I just didn't know why this stranger was still here.
This boy was completely out of my league and there are much prettier girls out there that aren't well-broken, like me.
"Lindsey, it's time for you to go home. And well I want to take you there." I nodded as a nurse came in and urged Harry to leave the room as she helped me dress.
"That boy of yours sure is very handsome. You're very lucky." I could feel my cheeks flush again as the lady helped me up into my clothing.
"I wish. He's not mine though. He's just a friend I guess." The lady handed me grey crutches. She tried to show me how to use them, but this isn't the first time I've used crutches being as klutzy as I am.
She helped me open the door to where Harry patiently waited. "Hi." He said as a cheeky-crooked grin looked me up and down checking out my broken body.
He tried to grab me taking me the way when I stepped away from him. I urged him to show me the way to his car, like he was leading the way.
We went through an elevator to get to the parking garage. There he led the way to his silver BMW rental car. He opened the passenger door for me.
I handed him the crutches as I sat down in the leather seat. He wouldn't let me buckle up on my own, he did it himself.
He popped the trunk and put both crutches in. I watched him carelessly walk towards his door. He suddenly stopped in front of the door and pulled out his black phone.
He carefully looked at the screen and gave the phone a look of sadness as he slid the phone back into his pocket. He opened the door and slid into the seat. He positioned the seat to fit his height.
He didn't turn on the radio when he started the expensive car. Instead we silently drove out of the hospital parking lot and out of the gate.
The hospital was a good hour away from where I lived according to the Map Quest in his car. "Lindsey, tell me about yourself."
