Chapter 54

AUTHOR'S POV

Jimin glanced behind him as he watched Jungkook walk away with Hyeri. He knew Jungkook wasn't someone step back, he was curious, like a little baby and what Jimin did was just make that little baby more curious about the person he was already interested in, Lee Hyeri.

FLASHBACK

Jungkook slumped on the floor breathing heavily. Today was the last practice before their performance and Jimin wanted Jungkook to give his best. Jungkook had the caliber so Jimin knew he can pull it off. He was confident about their dance. They practice really hard.

Jimin sat beside the younger as he handed him a bottle of water. "Let's do one more time before we head out, hyung." Jungkook managed to speak in between his heavy breathing. Jimin glanced at him for a second before smiling and opening the bottle for himself.

"Practicing is a good thing. But we shouldn't overdo it. Don't forget we have to help our school with their activity. It won't look nice if we sneak away from them." Jimin patted Jungkook's head. "Lemme go take a shower. I don't want people to sniff me and call me a wet dog." He muttered to himself before drinking water.

"Alright." Jungkook smiled and hummed while using his phone, texting Hyeri, who was pestering him to come and help them.

"Who is it?" Jimin smirked as he leaned close.

"Oh? It's just Hyeri." Jungkook said casually as he replied her back. "She's looking for us. You should shower and head first. I'll be there once I am done."

"Got it." Jimin got and stretched. He turned to look at Jungkook who was wiping his sweat while sitting up. "Jungkook?" He called him out making the younger look up.

"Yes?"

"Do you have a girlfriend?"

"Huh?" Jungkook blinked and then his eyes widened, he smiled flashing his bunny teeth, "What? No haha."

"Really?" Jimin leaned against the door. "Not even a crush?"

"Crush? Oh...well, I am not sure." He awkwardly scratched his neck and then looked up at Jimin with a soft blush on his cheeks. "I am not sure if I am interested in anyone yet. Why did you ask hyung?"

"Hmm...I thought you were into her, but maybe not." He mumbled lowly but enough loudly for Jungkook's ears to perk up curiously.

"W-who?" He asked swallowing a lump as he waited for the smirking guy to reply him. Jimin shrugged and turned around to pack his back. "C'mon say it!"

"Lee Hyeri." Jimin turned to look over his shoulder, "You keep looking at her whenever we are together. And her messages makes you smile. I thought you had a thing for her. I guess that's not the case."

"Huh? Hyeri? We are just friends. We are not like that." Jungkook smiled closing his eyes. "I am happy to be her friend. Won't it be awkward if I start having feelings for her?"

"Why would it? If you like her romantically, you just do. There's no other say here. You can be friends with her or just ... you know?" Jimin winked at Jungkook making him giggle and shake his head.

"I don't think it's possible. Hyeri likes someone else." Jungkook mumbled.

"Hm? You think so?" Jimin frowned. "Are you talking about Tae and Hyeri?" He asked making the younger just look away. "They are just best friends. I don't think Taehyung would like to date his bestfriend." Jimin gritted his teeth. "Unless something triggers his feelings and makes him jealous." He whispered to himself.

"Huh?" Jungkook blinked.

"What I am saying is, you have a chance if you like Hyeri. She's beautiful, strong willed, studious, dedicated and loyal. What else you'd want from your partner? Plus the competition is high. There are people who likes Hyeri and can't wait to hit on her. I just...as her bestfriend, I don't want any rando to come in her life."

"You... mean I have a chance?"

"Ohhh....so you do like her, huh?"

"Uh. No like..." Jungkook covered his face, embarrassed. "I am not sure. It's just she's really kind and hardworking.."

"So that's your type? That's just Hyeri. Anyways, Imma go take a shower, see you in class." He grabbed his backpack and headed out to the boys locker room.

Jungkook sighed and stared out of the small window as he heard the door shut close, he heard footsteps fading away. He smiled to himself as he watched two birds in a nest, cuddling into each other.

"Lee Hyeri...."

PRESENT

"This way?" Jungkook asked a couple of juniors the way to the class as the headed with the small paper pamphlet in his hand. "I thought it'd be close to our class."

"They didn't do it in their class. That's why it's far near the storage rooms." Hyeri explained as she walked beside him. "But still. . . why it's so dark here? They made it feel like a real horror house."

"It does say house of horrors. Do you think there will be cute hubaes as ghosts haha. I want to give them candies and appreciate them for their hardwork." Jungkook smiled making Hyeri laugh.

"What? They'd think you're a flirt. Just going in the horror house is appreciation of their hardwork. You don't have to treat them with candies." She looked around. "Jungkook?"

"Yeah?"

"How well do you think you could manage in there? It's fake but still...." Hyeri nervously smiled rubbing her arm.

"I am not sure. I am very excited!" He replied happily before his gaze landed on Hyeri, rubbing her arm nervously. "Hyeri are you okay? It's fine if you don't want to go. I won't force you."

"Huh?" Hyeri looked at him as they stopped walking. He looked so excited, reminded her of YUYU in amusement park. How could she say no. She heaved a sigh, faking a smile she looked at him. "What do you mean? I was worried about you, c'mon."

"Hahaha really? Alright, let's go." He smiled. Hyeri looked at him with a nod, in the back of her head, she was questioning her own decisions. She mentally screamed when they both stopped infront of a creepy looking room. "This is it?" Jungkook looked at a guy.

"WELCOME! Here is a map and... have a spooky day huhuhu." He handed them a hand drawn map and pushed them in the classroom. "Good luck!!"
