CHAPTER ONE

    I was really tired and didn't  want to get up from my bed, why do I have to be so fluffy. I groaned and forced my body to get up and I headed straight to the bathroom and did my usual routine. I put on a light set of clothes on since I was going to spend the rest of the day in my room as usual. I went downstairs for breakfast and sat down at the dinning table waiting for the rest. After about five minutes, I served myself and went back to my room. I looked out of the window and watched the birds outside flying freely. I felt tears slip out my eyes, the pain was too much, I lost my appetite so I ended up eating just three spoons. I carried the plate and returned it back to the kitchen. I saw my father coming down the stairs so I hid in a corner. I didn't want to be insulted this early so I waited until he went to the living room to attend to his guest then I quickly ran upstairs and shut my door quietly. I wasn't allowed to bang my door else I would be locked in the basement. I sat down on the couch at my balcony and gazed at the world ahead, it seemed so close but it was very far to me.

    I decided to go to the garden where there was only me, my pet and peace, I walked to the garden and sat on the swing while admiring the beauty of nature. I saw a coat of white fur as my dog came to me and yapped happily, I picked her up and stroked her. I heard a loud bark which made me freeze, Daisy had never barked like that before. I looked ahead of me and saw a large dog with no chain. Where was it's owner, I searched around but there was no one there so I put Daisy on the ground and stood up. Worst mistake, it started running towards me and I couldn't stand there looking at it. I ran round the garden with it chasing me, Daisy was also trying to help but there was no point. She was small and this dog could pass for a wolf. I saw a man coming to the garden so I ran to him to escape from this angry dog. When I was so close enough I jumped on him and wrapped my hands around his neck and buried my face “please help me” I begged and shut my eyes. I could hear the dog running but it was no longer barking when it got close. I was expecting to hear something awful but there was none . I slowly opened my eyes and peeped at the dog to see it sitting down and looking at the man with a lost puppy face. I gripped his collar tightly when the dog barred his teeth at me.

     “You can come down now he won't bite” he said in a deep voice, I'm sure he was commanding me with the tone he used. “can you please walk backwards a little bit .I “requested in a tiny voice. He walked out of the garden and took me to the waterfall near the garden. “Now get down” he gritted the words and I wasted no time in jumping off him “thank you” I said and walked passed him to go to my room, but a hand stopped me. I looked around to see if my dad was near but he wasn't, I also didn't have to worry because he hardly came here. I tried to free my hand but his grip was strong, as my effortless struggle irritated him because he yanked me to himself and wrapped his head around my waist. I could feel my heart beat pounding against my rib cage that I'm pretty sure he could hear it.

  “Um-sir, could you let go off me” I asked politely and tried to remove the hand encircled around my waist but he held me tightly though not enough to hurt me. I put my hands on his chest to create some distance but it didn't work and now I was completely caged. “Look me in the eyes and apologize ” he calmly stated ,but that is insane, I can't do that. I brought my lip between my teeth and stated nibbling it, calm down Rose, he won't hit you. My heart was beating too fast from fear, “I'm not a patient man and if you can't do that I have other ways “he whispered in my ear which sent shivers down my spine. I slowly lifted my head and looked him in the eyes, his eyes were deep ocean blue which seemed like it sucked everybody everybody who looked looked at him. “ I'm sorry” I said looked down expecting him to release me but he didn't move an inch. He lifted his hands up and I flinched away thinking that he was going to hurt me but he didn't, he said something rather unexpected. He lifted my chin up so that our eyes collided and we held each other gaze, “ I've changed my mind, apologize by saying my name “ his voice challenged me, daring me to disobey. Is he serious? Who does he think he is Mr popular, how am I supposed to know, this is literally my first time meeting him or is he expecting me to apologize by giving him a pet name but he looked too serious. I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion as I pondered on what his name would be. He should be one of my dad's guest and my dad has warned me to stay away from his guest who arrived today. I mean he yelled the warning to my face saying that the man was very powerful that one flick of his finger could destroy all of his handwork. Why didn't I pay attention to the guest name, well it can't hurt to guess. I racked my brain for any name but was completely blank. “Am I supposed to know ”. I asked him not trying to sound rude but I guess he took it the wrong way. “You are trying to tell me that the daughter of a mafia leader does not know who I am?” he lashed out angrily. Honestly he was scaring me, his eyes turned darker as he glared dagger into my head. I looked away to avoid his death stare but even his aura became dark and his whole presence screamed danger like as if I activated a bomb. He gripped my hair and tilted my neck up, he was staring at me with no emotion his eyes seemed like they wanted to drown me.
