~Merlin POV
Opening my eyes to the blinding light, I stretch and check my phone calendar. Today's the pool party for the last weekend of the school year; our sophomore year at Yonsei University.
This coming week is finals, so this is our chance to party before we go separate ways for the summer. It also happens to be the week my birthday lands on, almost every year, so I tend to celebrate on the first week of summer, instead.
After washing up and getting some coffee, I rifle through my unorganized closet. I have never been the person to conform to... anything, so picking what to wear is always easy- even if it's not easy to deal with the ridicule.
I lay my outfit on the bed and make my way back downstairs to greet my roommate and best friend, Hale. We sit together to have breakfast and chat about the party and this coming summer.
I will be flying to Jeju to spend the entire summer on the beach and Hale will most likely go see his girlfriend in Singapore. "Want to ride to the party together? I doubt either one of us will want to stay very long." I ask, hoping to have any excuse to leave as early as humanly possible.
"Yeah, sounds good man. I got some errands to do in Hongdae so I will pick you up around 3 pm." I nod and take my last bite of food; I quickly do the dishes and head upstairs to do some studying.
Before I know it, I look at the clock and realize it is already 2:15pm, Hale will be back in a while to pick me up. I hop in the quickest of showers, slick back my medium length black hair and apply a bit of mascara to make my blue eyes pop. I put some blush on my cheeks, and gloss on my lips.
I get my swim trunks and put them in my bag along with my sandals and towel. I slip on my black lace boy short boxers, then put on my black frayed edge jean shorts. I throw on a black V-neck and my normal necklaces and rings.
I grab my bag and shades and head for the door right at 3pm, seeing Hale outside in the car, ready to go. I hop in the car; the drive over to the soccer teams place only takes 10 minutes.
Most sports teams share massive stand-alone houses while the rest of us have dorms closer to campus with roommates. But that allows them to host all the best events.
We pull up and park down the block, spotting the massive sleek house. We walk to the large front door and knock, receiving no answer, we walk in and see almost our whole sophomore class inside.
Music blaring, drinks flowing, snacks and bottles on every surface. Seems we may be a few hours behind everyone else.
I immediately head for the kitchen to pour myself some silver tequila (hard to find here in Korea, but they always manage, thankfully) and mix it with some Chilsung Cider (better version of sprite).
I take a long sip and go to sit by the fire pit and chat with some people from my economics class for a while.
Hale finds me a bit later and invites me to join them all in the pool, so I head to get changed. I refill my cocktail and make my way to the bottom of the stairs in search of a bedroom to change in and store my bag.
"Nearest bedroom to change in?" I ask a guy I recognize as Hye, a striker on the soccer team.
"Up the stairs, last door on the left should be available." he turns and strides off after a beautiful girl and I am left to my task.
I head up the staircase and reach the door, push it open, and to my surprise the room is not what I expected, like at all.
