"Are you serious?" Lisa stood up, her hands are clenched into a fist. "Pranpriya," Chitthip called out to calm her daughter, and as for Jennie, she's now trembling. The latter couldn't even speak nor even look at Lisa's parents right in the eye.

"Of course it's you of all people."

"You are gone for most of my life, where were you when I needed you guys? Where the hell were you guys during Diana's death?" Lisa snapped, "Lisa, calm down." Jennie whispered, but the thai pressed on. "And now you want to take away the only person that makes me happy? That doesn't seem fair." The thai voiced out, and people around them are now staring at her, quite interested to what's going on. "You never let me finish," Marco sighed, "What?" Lisa took a deep breath. "I was just... joking." He chuckled lightly while his wife can only do the same, "Ah, I always wanted to say that, you should've seen your face!" He teased.

"Wait, so you're just joking?" Lisa looked pissed, she carefully sat down again on the chair next to Jennie. The brunette on the other hand is quite embarrassed, she can't even utter a single word. "Of course! We're actually thankful, Marco and I will never have to worry about you ALL THE TIME." Chitthip laughed.

"What?"

"I've heard that Jennie beat the heck out of Mrs. Shin's daughter, I remember that brat for ruining my Priya's high school life." Marco sighed in relief. Lisa can only bit her lip now frustrated, while Jennie held her hand to calm her down. "I need a drink." Lisa said, now embarrassed by her sudden outburst awhile ago and the people around them finally went back to their own lives.

"There are a lot of choices in the menu my dear, we can order more food if you want."

"Go eat some more, Jennie." Marco smiled, he put another piece of steak on Jennie's plate, "Don't take it to the heart, I'm only joking dear." Marco added.

"Uhm... dad how did you know about Jennie's mom?" Lisa asked, now curious about it. The brunette can only eat quietly, still baffled by Lisa's dad.

"Dr. Kim turned down my best friend's proposal for prom, I remember it all too well. I was there to provide dinner service that time, Jennie's mom chose that guy from the band..."

"Oh..." Jennie wanted to be buried six feet underground because of her mother, "How was your father? I never heard any word from him." Marco asked, "My dad was..." Jennie cleared her throat, "He passed away." the brunette answered before she took a sip from her wine. "I'm sorry to hear that..." Chitthip frowned, and as for Lisa, she can only squeeze Jennie's leg underneath the table again. "It's okay," Jennie assured her girlfriend.

"I see, I've heard you're one of the top student in your class. That's great!" Chitthip giggled, "She's also the student council president, she mostly organize the events in the campus and stuff." Lisa butted in now chewing the medium rare steak, "That's really impressive! I'm still wondering how you guys became official, Lisa looked horrible the last time I saw her from her pictures." Lisa's mother replied.

"The long hair, the glasses..."

"I don't actually mind, it's her personality and how we care after each other made me love her."

Lisa can only look at Jennie, she placed her drink down. She's totally speechless. The thought of it brought Lisa back to the past where one of her bullies in her class told her that no one's going to love her because of her looks.

"Who let the emo join our group?"

"You're the last pick again... how about you sit this one out." Lisa's former teacher said.
