Hoss woke when a hand roughly shook his shoulder. The pain from his shoulder made him hiss and grab the persons arm instinctively. Then in an instant, an emotional memory crashed in and immediately called the first name that came into mind.
"Kasey!" He looked around the room hastily and saw a bunch of police officers and other people surrounding the house. "Where's my wife?" he asks. "My daughter? My son?" and another wave of his memory crashed in. He heard his wife and children screaming and a man laughing across the room holding a knife in his right hand. He couldn't see his face in the dark room but he knew he saw the man smiling. The man spoke but he couldn't hear the words or the fact that he couldn't remember.
"What is your name?"
"Hoss, Kentin Hoss. My wife and children, where are they? I need to find them!" He yells once more and he was about to get up when a hand grabbed his shoulder and pushed him back down. The pain in his arm made him hiss.
"Sir, I need you to calm down and listen to me. I need to ask you a few question, do you understand?" The policeman asked still holding his shoulder. He did understand but couldn't. He needs to know where his wife and his children are, his beautiful children. He needs to know but Hoss nodded anyway.
"I need you to tell me what happened, everything that comes through your head, understand?" The man asked looking at Hoss in the eyes. Hoss closed his eyes and took a breather. What happened? He asked himself, do I even remember? He took another breath but nothing came. He waited another minute and still nothing comes to his mind. He only remembers the screams of his wife and children.
"I can only remember the screams of my wife and my children. But there was a man there." The policeman looked up to the other police officer close by and nodded. Nodding that they got a lead and the policeman looked back at Hoss.
"Do you know what he looks like? What he is wearing?" The policeman asked but Hoss shook his head no. The policeman shook his head and sighed in frustration. "Is that it? You can't think of anything else? We can't possibly find your wife or children with little information like that. Think!" The policeman sort-of yells. Hoss closed his eyes and he thought of the memory of the man. Hoss concentrated on the man and his face. When the face was about to get familiar, a sharp pain was felt at the side of his head. Hoss immediately gripped his head with his hands and yelled in pain. Screams of his children and wife flooded his head and that was the only thing he could hear. He couldn't hear the policeman yelling to the medics or the cries coming from his mouth. Everything turned black but he could still hear the screams in his head.
Hoss woke up but he squinted from the white bright room. The steady beat of the heart monitor calmed him as he looked around the room. He could hear arguing outside of the room, the voice of the policeman from the house and a woman he never heard before. They were loud; people from the other side of the hospital could hear them.
"James, you stupid man. Why did you have to be so hard on him?" The woman interrogated James—the policeman. The woman was obviously upset with the man.
"A woman and two children gone missing and he was the only one there. He could have known something, at least a good amount of information." The policeman—I mean James answered back in a fighting way.
"So you are going to fight it out of him?" The woman yells. "He has already been in one! Blood was all over him and stab wounds on his arms!"
"Two children and a woman are with a psycho killer somewhere out there doing god knows what!" James fights back.
