A news flash played on the tv screen. Rona was cooking breakfast for her family. John came inside the kitchen with groceries in his hand.
"They got out of milk," John said.
Rona sighed, "Guess we're back to boxed pancakes."
John held Rona's hands, "Hey... How are you?"
"Are you asking me now or for the past 12 months?"
John stared and snickered his lips.
Rona stopped her cooking, "I don't know anymore... Rion is still missing, the store has no milk and your daughter... Your daughter is in a bad shape. She doesn't want to eat or go to school. She doesn't even go out of her room."
"She misses her brother..."
"We all do. If there's only a way we can find him and penetrate the spell blocking our magic."
The news flash showed another victim of an unusual animal attack. The news reporter said, "The officer's body was left on the road with no scratches or bites on his clothes and its head was torn apart from his body like every victim we've encountered this past few weeks. All of the victims' blood was drained out of their bodies. It has been totaled to 76 deceased victims with all the same cases. What kind of animal is this? Or who?—
"You're not thinking what I'm thinking," Rona said to John.
"What are you thinking?" He asked.
"This might be our lead."
"You're not saying that our son is now a serial killer and cut people's heads off."
"I mean it's not impossible... He doesn't remember anything. He's unaware of his actions."
"Rona... Rion wouldn't do such a thing. He accidentally killed a human and he mourned for half a year. My son is not like that." John replied.
He then looked back at the news and saw the place where the incident happened. He had this fleeting thought that it might be his son who did it. He doesn't want to be right so he decided to go to the place of the incident without Rona knowing.
"You saw the news?" Cheryl asked Delvin as he place his things in his locker.
"What news?" He asked.
"The Head Ripper... The killer that rips out peoples' heads and sucks out all of their blood. The other students think it's a vampire. My bet... a wild werewolf, probably a Crimson."
"Never heard of it... And never care for it."
"What's wrong with you?... You seem to be always grumpy since school started."
"Nothing... The only problem I have is my new roommate."
"Is this the new guy? Brad? Brian? Oh! Billy..."
"More like Billy-zebub."
"Why?... What's with the hate? All the girls think he's hot and you know... a good snack."
"Oh please... If your definition of hot is leaving your bags of chips on the carpet and not doing your laundry maybe he'll fit."
"Maybe he's just new to this environment. Barrington Academy opened its doors to hundreds of new students. Everyone is coping..."
"Well, I will cope as soon as I change my room."
Billy suddenly walked in and saw Delvin, "Oh there you are... A dude delivered this to the room. Told him I'll just give it to you."
Delvin was surprised by his sudden appearance, "Thanks..." He said awkwardly as he receive the package.
Billy kept looking at Cheryl, "Why don't you introduce me to your friend, Melvin." He said to Delvin.
