Tweek nervously pulled at a loose thread in his sweater. It was colder than ever out and instead of wearing his usual button up, he'd opted on wearing a t-shirt and a hoodie.
He rang the doorbell, holding the box of cupcakes he made in one hand, his free hand going back to pulling at that loose thread. After a few seconds the door swung open, and for a moment Tweek's heart stuttered.
"Hey," Craig said, smiling warmly. He looked cute—not in a weird way he just, he looked cozy! Comfortable. Whatever. He could see Craig's eyes looking him up and down, and his nerves spiked. Did he think he looked weird? Was the sweater a mistake???
"You're wearing a hoodie," he finally said, and Tweek let out a little embarrassed giggle.
"Yeah! I mean, it's pretty cold out so I just thought it'd be the best option."
Craig nodded. "It looks good on you—you suit it." He replied, and the genuinity in his tone was actually striking, and again, his heart did a little somersault in his chest. Before he could get a response out, Craig cleared his throat, stepping to the side a little. "You should come in, it's freezing." He laughed out.
Oh. Yeah. Right—he clumsily stepped inside, and when Craig closed the door behind them he somehow became even more nervous. Why? he had no clue, genuinely.
This time he was the one to clear his throat, and before he forgot, he held the cupcakes out to Craig, the other boy raising his brow in confusion.
"I made cupcakes earlier," he started, "I know it's a little lame and totally pointless but," he was definitely starting to ramble oh God, "I was bored and my Mom said it might be a good idea to bring them to the sleepover and I was like yeah she might be right and I—"
"Tweek." Craig said, and it was only then that Tweek realised Craig had stepped closer and his hands were on his shoulders. When did that happen? Probably mid-ramble. He lowered his head in complete embarrassment.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry, I was definitely rambling, wasn't I?!" He didn't dare look up, what if Craig made fun of him?
All he heard was Craig chuckling, and though he was scared out of his mind, he lifted his head up, meeting his eyes, and for the second time that night, his heart almost stuttered to a complete stop.
Craig was smiling—a warm, affectionate looking smile, and he felt his hands squeeze his shoulders. "It's okay," he said gently, and as fast as he'd started to panic, he was calming down again. "I don't mind the rambling, it's a part of you, y'know? Plus, it's cute."
What?
Tweek's eyes widened, and so did Craig's, the other boy moving to take a step back, his hands falling from his shoulders. He coughed into his hand, and if Tweek wasn't mistaken, he swore Craig's face was slightly redder.
"I just mean—don't worry about the rambling, okay? It's cute so all the girls will eat it up."
His heart dropped. Why? That was a compliment and he knew it but for some reason it still stung. He shook his head, pushing the unnecessary upset to the side as he forced a smile. "Thanks! I worry about how much I ramble so... it means a lot."
"Well, try and stop worrying, it's seriously okay."
"Yeah..."
Craig scratched the back of his neck, ushering him forward. "We should go upstairs, the others are probably wondering what happened to us."
That made Tweek giggle. "Yeah, you're right."
When they got up there all they could hear was Clyde and Tolkien yelling. Tweek raised a questioning brow at Craig—he just smiled and shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.
