Chapter Nineteen
She shifted a little in her chair and then pushed her upper body off; feeling suddenly too tall. Her legs wobbled but surprisingly they held her up as her bare feet touched the cold floor. She took a deep breath and pushed until she was nearly standing straight.
"Come on, please." She whispered. Last night she had managed to wiggle her big toe and it had been a progress no one had guaranteed her. Squeezing her eyes shut she let go of the armrests and stretched out her arms to balance herself out. A breath escaped her as she felt her face run hot.
"Come on, come on." She whispered.
Her feet felt the chill of the floor as she did her best to concentrate on moving one foot in front of the other.
"Move." She growled out in anger to herself.
Her legs began to tremble uncontrollably as she encouraged them to move once again. Her eyes remained shut as she kept her hands out in front of her.
"Please." She muttered. Her legs gave out and she collapsed on the floor feeling her right shoulder hit the floor with a loud crack. A loud yelp escaped her as she rolled to her back gasping for air.
"No use, it's no use." She argued.
The house began to grow cold as Jenny laid on the floor not certain if her right shoulder contained a fracture or a break. She had been certain that she had felt something break but she would rather not find out or make any sudden movements just yet. Her left hand reached out and caressed the injured spot trying to soothe away the pain. Jenny laid unable to move, in truth not wanting to. The desire for the floor to swallow her whole seemed like a sweet dream come true as she let out a small sight.
A few hours later, she finally managed to sit up and reach over to her chair and grasp the armrests. Luckily, the fall had not broken her shoulder, but it ached something terrible. She gripped the armrests and pushed her body up unto the wheel chair feeling sudden relief when her butt made contact with the cushion of her seat. Jenny was certain that it was late into the night as her eyes began to droop once again. Her eyes settled unto the spot she had fallen on and she growled under her breath.
"Not even a foot." She muttered.
She hurried into the warmth of her room stripped off her clothes and snuggled into a nightgown. With one last jump, she landed swiftly unto her bed scattering the pillows left and right. Before she could lay her head down Jenny heard a sudden rapping at her door, but she figured she was dreaming when it echoed once again. Fear suddenly sank in as the knocks came in stronger and she gripped the covers up to her chin wishing she could simply fall into a deep sleep. The attempt to convince herself that it was simply her imagination failed as she squeezed her eyes shut and began to hum to herself.

Max pounded down hard on her door and felt his heart accelerate and quickly crushed the snow down with his boots trying hard to peer through the foggy large windows of her living room. He rubbed at the surface to one of the glass windows and peered in finding her living room completely vacant of anything. His chest tightened as he rushed towards the kitchen window and managed to peer through the blinds slightly ajar. Aside from the microwave set on the counter and the fridge there was absolutely nothing there, not even the small table she had left for herself. The chill of the night had begun to turn his face numb as he gripped the knob once again and tried jiggling it.
It was when he pounded on the door once again that he noticed a frozen sheet of paper one the door hiding behind a bit of frost. Brushing aside the rest of the ice that covered its contents, he read it and felt his heart sink. Jenny had until the end of this month to take the rest of her belongings and move out.
