Ch. 5 I need to tell you something, Harry

In the Hogwarts Express, Harry and Lily sat across from each other. They wanted to look each other in the eyes when they converse about their mission to the past.

" What will happen when we arrive at the past?" Harry asked while biting his inner cheek since he was nervous about this specific mission.

" I need you to be in hiding. Sirius might think you are James," Lily responded.

Harry nodded. He figured Sirius would believe he was James because they looked similar.

" I am going to confront Sirius first. We cannot let him chase after Peter," Lily looks at Harry.

Harry frowned. " I wish we could attack Peter first for having you and Dad killed," He murmured.

Lily's gaze softened. She could see the anger and sadness in Harry's bright green eyes that reminded her of her husband when James discovered that Peter betrayed him and their family.

" I need to tell you something, Harry," Lily grabbed Harry's hand and lightly grasped it.

Harry looked at Lily with a raised eyebrow.

" What I am about to tell you. I know you are going to disagree with me. But, your father and I have talked about it for years," Lily speaks.

Harry frowned, looking concerned.

" I want you to give Peter a second chance," Lily's bright green eyes intently stared at Harry's bright green eyes.

Harry looked at Lily with mixed emotions. " Mum! Peter is why you and Dad aren't going to be raising me," He sternly speaks. " Why should I give that rat a second chance?" He asked.

" Because Peter didn't technically betray us!" Lily snapped.

Harry's bright green eyes blinked when he saw Lily looking at him angrily. He gulped since his mother is a scary Witch when angry.

" Your father and I learned the truth when Peter died. We saw his memories, Harry," Lily begins to calm down.

Harry looked at Lily with mixed emotions, but he didn't say anything.

" Peter got coerced to tell our Location to Lord Voldemort," Lily confessed.

" What?" Harry whispered. " Are you saying that Peter got tortured?" He frowned. His hands tightened into fists when he remembered hearing Hermione's agonizing cries when she got tortured by Bellatrix.

Lily looked at Harry knowingly. " Unlike Hermione, who had you, Ronald, and even Draco to stop the torture. Peter had no one," She frowned.

" So, you could imagine, he had to give our location to Lord Voldemort to save his own life. Then again, he did it so that his childhood bully could stop tormenting him," Lily looked out the window. Her bright green eyes saddened when she remembered seeing Peter's real authentic memories in full detail.

" James and I were in hiding. So, we couldn't help him. Sirius and even Remus were on the down low during that time. Many were wary of Remus since Lord Voldemort had werewolves on his side. A couple of members of the Order of the Phoenix found Sirius suspicious. Since you know, of being a member of the Black Family—The Most Dark Magical Family in the Wizarding World," Lily lets go of Harry's hand. She then brushes her long dark red hair with her right hand.

" Since only Sirius knew that Peter was the Secret Keeper. He wasn't allowed to interact with Peter, which would ruin everything. So, no one knew what was happening to Peter this whole time," Lily lightly bites her lips, feeling angry and disappointed in herself.
