"eleven."
the girl stirred.
"eleeevennn." mike gently placed a hand on her shoulder. "it's time to wake up." she grunted, stirring and turning the other way.
"we're going to see our friends today."
eleven frowned. she didn't want to go out—she wanted to be home with mike. all day. she's been with mike for around 2 years now, so she's very familiar with his friends. they didn't know, though, about her..."childish tendencies".
ever since mike took eleven in, she was (obviously) underdeveloped in grammar, speech, and social cues. as she developed, though, some things sometimes just...didn't. she threw tantrums, liked to be fed, rocked, held, and cared for like a baby. mike went along with it to make her more comfortable, but he finally asked her about it one day.

"i...don't know what it's called," the girl started, slowly, "but i still do..baby things sometimes. i like it. it makes me....com..forble." she finished with a little, satisfied nod.
mike didn't quite know how to react. this was voluntary? "do you control it?" he asked. she nodded. "sometimes. sometimes i don't control it." mike nodded again. it was both involuntary and voluntary. interesting.
though mike knew it would take some adjusting, he didn't have any issue complying. "i'll help take care of you. always." eleven broke out into an excited grin. "really?" she asked. mike nodded. "of course. anything for you." he smiled, though he wasn't fully confident in his new caregiver title.
———————————————
for now, though, mike thinks it's finally time that he tells his friends about it (with el's consent, or course). el's been regressed around the group a few times, but nobody's really seemed to notice but mike (or at least that he knows of). just because el's okay with telling the group doesn't mean that she wants to wake up, though.
mike gently removes the cover to reveal the girl, curled up in her little makeshift tent. she has her own space to sleep, but she LOVES being in her tent—it's secure, safe, private, and she knows mike will be down every morning to greet her. she grunts and looks at him with a pout, pacifier dangling from a clip (which was finally bought after el threw far too many tantrums after dropping/losing her paci so much) attached to her oversized shirt pajamas.
mike smiled a little. "sorry. i know you don't wanna get up. but we're going to see our friends today!" she sat up and rubbed her eyes with a dissatisfied huff. after another minute of her post-wake-up sulky haze, she crawled out, right into mike's lap with a hefty yawn. mike brushed through her hair with his fingers. "we need to brush this," he stated, but was met with a whine. "still too soon after waking up. i know. let's go eat. k?" she looked up at him, nodding once.
"eggos?" he asked the girl. to nobody's surprise, he was met with an excited nod.
