It has been four years since Kasumi left the Hidden Leaf village. She and her kids have been to many different places. The first year they stayed in the Land of Wind in the Hidden Sand village since the Kazekage allowed her to stay but asked her to watch his son Gaara in return. A year after leaving the Hidden Sand village, her oldest daughter went to live with Shushi and his mother while she was in the academy.
So now it was just Kasumi and her five-year-old daughter Naomi and newly turned four-year-old son Menma. For the past few days, they had been staying in a lovely cabin in the Land of Greens.
She finished reading a letter from her oldest daughter telling her time at the academy was going great, but sadly, her closest friend Itachi graduated early. Now was outside the cabin about to start today's training for her kids.
"Alright, Naomi-Hime, today we're going to practice chakra control, and Menma, we will work on learning about what Ninjutsu is," She said, looking at her two younger children in front of her.
"Okay, Mommy," Naomi said.
"Ah, boring," Menma groaned, wanting to do something more fun.
"Menma, it might be boring, but it is essential to understand what ninjutsu is before learning to use it," Kasumi explained, looking at her son Menma
"Okay, Mommy," Menma said.
"Good Naomi, start by building up charka," Kasumi said, nodding at her five-year-old daughter, "Menma tell me what ninjutsu is."
"Got it, Mommy," Naomi closed her eyes as she built up chakra.
"Well, Ninjutsu is one of the three main justu categories. That used to describe anything that is not genjustu or taijutsu," Menma explained.
"Good job, Menma. Continue reviewing that. While I work with Namoi," Kasumi said as she walked towards Namoi.
Menma nodded boredly as he continued to review what Ninjutsu was out loud, with his mother listening to him as she worked with Namoi.
"Now, Namoi, this next part will be a bit difficult," Kasumi said, looking at Namoi.
"What are we about to do now?" Namoi asked, looking up at her mother curiously.
"I'll show you. Watch very closely," Kasumi said as she walked close to the tree and built up her chakra before walking up the tree using only her feet."Now that you got the hang of building up chakra, I want you to try climbing up the tree," She said, looking down at Namoi from the tree branch she was standing on.
"So I build up chakra and then climb?" Namoi asked.
"Yes, build up chakra and focus it to the soles of your feet, and after you do that, try climbing up the tree," Kasumi explained as she came down from the tree and handed Namoi a kunai."Use this to mark how far you get each time, and be careful," She said to her.
"Alright, here I go," Namoi said, focusing her chakra on her feet.
"Good, now work on that, and I'll get Menma started on his next task," She said, walking over towards Menma as she carefully watched Namoi climb the tree.
"Menma, we will start off with trying to do the Clone jutsu," Kasumi said."Now I will show you the hand signs."
"Okay."
Kasumi then made the hand signs as she created a clone of herself.
"Now you give it a try, and if you need help, my clone will stay with you while I go check on your sister," Kasumi said as she left her clone with Menma while she went to check on Namoi.
When she returned to Namoi, she quickly caught her when she fell back to the ground using too much chakra.
"Woah, careful, that was too much chakra. Give it another try," Kasumi said.
"Alright, I'll try it again," Namoi said as Kasumi put her down, ready to give it another try.
"Now remember not to use too much chakra, but don't use too little either," Kasumi said as she turned for a minute to see Menma still working with her clone on the other side of the forest outside of the cabin.
"Not too much and not too little," Namoi whispered as she closed her eyes and began to focus her chakra, getting to try again to climb up the tree using only her feet.
Kasumi nodded as Namoi was doing a bit better than earlier until she fell back, with Kasumi catching her again.
"Alright, let's stop for lunch. We continue some more after lunch," Kasumi said."Menma, that's enough training. It's time for lunch!" She called out, looking at her son as she undid the clone justu.
"What do we have today, Mommy?" Menma asked, running over to Kasumi.
"I was thinking of making Miso Soup for lunch today," Kasumi replied.
"I love Miso soup!"Menma cheered.
"I know, and so does your father," Kasumi sighed.
"Hey, Mommy, have come. Daddy didn't come with us?" Namoi asked.
"Well, he had things to take care of," Kasumi replied.
'They're still a bit young to know the truth. Maybe once there, Genin, they can handle it.' She thought as she headed back inside to start cooking lunch.
