I paced my room in my heels chewing my nails. I looked around the room i had. It wasn't really even my room anymore, i was catching a flight to London at six fifteen, making it my new home. I heard all the mingling down stairs, separating my family's voices from my friends. My door slowly opened.

"Ready Cat?" My dad smiled.

I nodded.

"Everyone is down there?" I sighed.

"Yep. Just waiting to congratulate and say goodbye to you."

I blew out air, trying to calm down.

"Am I ready to go to collage? Do you think I'm trying to grow up too fast" I sat down on my bed, throwing my face in my hands.

My dad came beside me rubbing my back.

"No. I believe in you. Your so determined. You are still that fierce little girl. Who's dreaming big." He laughed.

I looked up. As my dad reached in his pocket pulling out a little black box with a pink metallic bow stuck to it. He put it into my open hands.

"Dad." I started.

"No just open it." He urged.

I obeyed lifting the top off. Inside were two necklaces. One that went with the occasion it was a sliver chain with a diamond embellished graduation cap attached. And the second (which was my favorite) was a gold chain with a pendent that had dream written in cursive.

"These are beautiful daddy." I sniffed.

"Well I saw the graduation one in a little shop on the way here. And the dream one I had made just for you."

I let a tear slip out from the corner of my eye.

"Dad. Thank you so much." I sighed.

He took the little graduation cap one out of the box putting it around my neck.

"Now I say we get down stairs before people start a riot because the lovely host hasn't attended" he laughed.

I nodded looping my arm through his and walking downstairs towards the dining room. When I finally reached the great doors leading in, everybody started clapping and smiling at me. They were all dressed formally with full wine glasses in their hands. My dad kissed me on the cheek before disappearing into the kitchen. I walked over to my mom hugging her. She handed me a wind glass but only filled with grape juice.

"Congratulations." Andy said approaching me on the bar stool.

"Thanks." I smiled "So your the future step brother."

"Yeah. I guess so. But hey don't worry I'm twenty one I can drive so that means I'm not always at home to bug you." He joked taking a seat.

"Well good because your defiantly annoying." I rolled my eyes and taking a drink out of my glass.

I watched as Andy looked at me with a shocked expression. I almost spit out my drink as I started to chuckle.

"I'm kidding" I said slapping his knee.

I could almost feel the relief as his body relaxed.

"I thought you were serious." He said in his british accent.

I shook my head.

"No. Wow you were going to let a seventeen year old walk all over you like that?" I laughed.
