ᵗʰᵉ ʷᵒˡᶠ || 𝙒𝙊𝙇𝙁!𝙍. 𝙆𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙅𝙐𝙍𝙊𝙐 𝙓 𝘾𝙃𝙐𝘽𝘽𝙔!𝙍𝙀𝘼𝘿𝙀𝙍

♯ 𝒕𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒅𝒂𝒚 ― cloudy, 12:03 p.m.

it's been roughly five days since [ y/n ] had taken kyoujurou home, and it was one of her best decisions ever. thankfully, or not, he wasn't chipped or registered, so she had that done. [ y/n ] also made sure he got all of his vaccines as well as a general health check-up from the fight he must've gotten into.

from the moment they got back from the vet, kyoujurou hid from her ― well, as best as he could considering he was a fairly large dog in a small ass apartment. sure, the chubby woman felt bummed out about it, but she understood why ― nobody would want some random stranger sticking a thermometer up your ass.

however, despite trying to separate himself from [ y/n ], kyoujurou couldn't help himself but quickly look for her after an agonizing day after the vet visit. he sniffed high and low around the apartment but couldn't find her, which alarmed him greatly. however, his ears managed to pick up the faint sounds of crying coming from her room.

his forked eyebrows furrowed as his ears perked forward towards the sound and quickly totted over to [ y/n ]'s bedroom. thankfully, the door was slightly open, so kyoujurou used his nose to open it and poke his head through the gap. huffing through his nose, the blond animal quickly jumped onto her bed and nudged [ y/n ].

sniffling her tears away, [ y/n ] lifted her head from her pillow as she moved to sit up instead of lying on her stomach.

❝oh. . . hey, buddy! what's up?❞ kyoujurou only whined when he heard her raspy voice crack. huffing another whine, kyoujurou quickly flopped his body on top of her and proceeded to smother [ y/n ]'s face in kisses. from the onslaught of kisses, [ y/n ] giggle as she tried to push his face away.

❝was that your way of cheering me up?❞ she said through giggles as she wiped the spit from her face, watching as kyoujurou proudly puffed his chest with comical sparkles floating around him. kyoujurou did that weird husky talk, y'know the one, to [ y/n ] who rose a brow as he talked.

what he was talking about, [ y/n ] would never know.

but seeing him try to cheer her up ― which was done in a very human way ― made her smile and bring [ y/n ] out of the dark rabbit hole she was spiralling down. [ y/n ] softly chuckled and shook her head, quickly bringing kyoujurou into a hug. kyoujurou abruptly stopped talking as his head rested on her shoulder.

releasing what [ y/n ] was going, kyoujurou raised one of his paws around her body in a form of a hug, which the chubby woman giggled into his unique fur. kyoujurou huffed as he closed his eyes, the slow thumping of his wagging tail filled the silence. he could get used to this type of affection. he relished in the way her hands went through his fur.

his only wish was that he could give her a proper hug than this sad attempt.

♯ 𝒕𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒅𝒂𝒚 ― thunderstorm, 12:03 a.m.

in the dead of the night, furious thunder and lightning shook the sky as hard pellets of rain crushed against the earth. the loud booming weather had made kyoujurou on high alert, his tail and hackles puffing up as the weather shook the widows of the apartment. holding in a whimper, kyoujurou stealthily makes his way to lie under the covers with [ y/n ].

he was generally surprised to see her sleeping like a log.

i suppose humans are like that, aren't they? full of surprises, but another harsh crack of lightning and thunder made him jump physically. his gold and red eyes widen to the size of dinner plates, scrambling to get under the covers. as the rain continuously battered along the window, kyoujurou finally managed to snuggle up with [ y/n ].

managing to stuff his head in between her arms, kyoujurou huffed as bashfully laid his head on her plump, focusing on her calming heartbeat. heaving a sigh through his nose, kyoujurou's eyelids began to slowly drop as sleep began to invade his system, allowing for his simple dreams and memories to replay.
