I Ruined You - HHJ (Call Me Crazy: 2)

Hyunjin shut the dorm's door behind us. It was quiet.

"Well, that went well." He sighed out with a deflated smile. The meeting did not in fact go well.

We were called in by a rightfully frantic JYPE for an emergency meeting the day following "the incident" as they put it. We sat there silently as the people in suits told us sternly how severely we fucked up. While dating wasn't "technically" banned on their contract, this was still an outrage for not just the group but the entire company. It was terrifying, I felt like I had been caught sneaking out of the house and I was being told off by my enraged parents. I felt so small at that big table surrounded by those people. But there was Hyunjin, and he made it just a little better. He squeezed my hand under that table and even though we knew better than to look at each other at that moment, I felt safer.

They went on to tell us that while they can't legally punish us since within the contract it was permitted to date, they felt regretful and incredibly disappointed. That what was to come would be a battle that we might not win, and there was no telling how we would come out the other end. They even threatened to fire Hyunjin if he stepped a centimeter out of line from now on. No more public announcements without the company's consent, no public outings with me without the company's consent, and worst of all, no more activity with Stray Kids until further notice. When they told us that, if it was even possible, the temperature in the room dropped. I felt that air thin until I could hardly breathe. From then and through the company car ride here, it was silent.

"Hyunjin," I murmured, hardly working up the nerve to look him in the eye. When I turned to him I could see it on his face. The panic sat densely in his eyes. "What do we do." It wasn't a question so much as a cry for help. He knew it too. There was nothing we could do. 

 A weak but sincere smile rested on his face. He silently pulled me into his embrace. There was nothing left to say, all we could do was hold each other and pray.
