Here's the first chapter.
"Tell me again mummy!",
"Where's your manners gone, miss Libby?
"Um, Please?
"Thats my girl."
"Ok, are you ready. Well it all started like any other day on earth, but today was a special day because John Harper was going to the sun. I know it sounds crazy but he did! In a tiny ship covered with fire proof material (It looked kinda like a ship from an alien movie). On that same day a very old man turned up at John's front doorstep. This old man had only one eye, with a large scare across it. most of his teeth were well gone, and people said that he was mental! With an old harsh, scary voice he said "John, don't go! You have to be crazy or mental, like me, to go! Look boy, LOOK! Ya see my eye, well do ya! Thats all the sun gave me. Wishes and dreams don't exist! I'm just warning you kid don't go! Don't make that mistake! And on that note, the old sun dreamer turned and stomped away. while he was walking, all John could hear was clunk, clunk, clunk and he looked down and saw a stubby little metal leg (which sent cold sharp shivers down his spine).
The scary old man wasn't enough to scare john from completing his dream. So he put on his suit and gathered all his bags and off he headed towards his beautiful, shining,dazzling ship. All of the town and loads of other people from other towns or counties gathered around shouting his name as he entered the ship. Even the police came to ensure that no one was blasted at take off, and they built a fence to protect all citizens. The count down began. 10, 9, 8 ,7 ,6 ,5 ,4 ,3 ,2 ,1, Blast off, and the rocket ship blasted of into space heading towards the sun, and to never."
"No John No!
"Ever be seen again. Fifty years past by with no John, until one cold winter snowy day a extremely large white snow flake fell from the sky. No one knew until, a little girl named sally was building a snow man, and reached down deep into the snow to get some harder snow. Only when she pulled out her hand did she see a paper looking thing. Now sally was only five and"
"Just like me"
"Yes just like you, and couldn't read, immediately she raced inside to her father, and asked him to read it out to her. The letter said."
'Dear fellow earthlings, it is me, John Harper, and have written a letter to you because.....'
"The letter followed on, telling earth of how wonderful the sun is, and that he was still alive and it is real, dreams do come true."
"But, but then that means the old guy lied"
"Mabey so, but we will have to talk about that later. Deary me it's 8:30 half an hour past your bedtime, so go to sleep lovey and wake up happy in the morning, ok?"
"Ok! I love you mummy."
"I love you too, Libby. Goodnight."
