I blew the one golden stand of hair out of my face as I tapped my pen against my college applications. I was already on hour two of filling out my applications. The first hour I waisted my time drinking ample amounts of coffee to only spill most of the 5th cup down the front of my shirt. Then I had to go out to my car in search for a shirt of some sorts, but all I found was my little sisters hoodie, which had purple and pink stars all down the sleeves. I looked like a really tall middle schooler to say the least.
Looking out the coffee shops window a frustrated sigh escaped my lips. I was most likely not going to finish these applications today. "Hey you want to go for a little walk?" I glanced up to see my friend Leo, his tall, lean frame cast a shadow over the table. His convincing green eyes just persuading me to say yes. So I nodded.
I slight smile was on his normally emotionless face. As we crossed the street the sun started to set making the night just a little bit nippier.
"So how has your college applications been going, I see you've been working hard on them all day." He nudged me with his elbow flashing me his signature smirk.
"I'll have you know I almost have them done." I stated matter-of-factly. Just then a snort came out of Leo's mouth. "Ow what the heck was that for?!" Leo rubbed his arm up in down like I shot him or something, it was just a little tap that's all.
I shrugged trying to contain my grin. "I thought I saw a bug."
At that Leo knew that was a plain out lie. Before Leo could hit me and blame it on I bug I ran ahead and shouted "race you to the park!" And took off.
I could feel Leo trailing very close behind me, being 6'3 had it's advantages for Leo like his ridiculously long legs. Just when I was about to glance behind me Leo was already in front heading straight for the swings.
He won of course but I'd never say that out loud, his ego is already big enough. "God Claire you're getting fast, I almost thought you were gonna win this time!" I rolled my eyes even without looking at him I knew there was a huge grin plastered on his face.
