Chapter 24: Back and forth and back
'Jimin: Jungkook. Hello.'
Jungkook: Hey Jimin! I'm so glad to hear from you. How have you been?
The text doesn't seem to be enthusiastic. Jungkook suppresses everything behind his fingers. He always texts his friends in a serious, short and sharp manner.
😀 No. The smile does not reach the eyes.
😊 Ahhh? Does this look overly happy?
Maybe he should go for something vague like 🙂?, but what if it comes off as cold? What about the heart? 💙Jimin loves blue, but does it seem too flirty to send a heart? What about animals?, but what if Jimin takes it offensive?
It took Jungkook some time to choose whether he'd like emojis, or which emojis are the right one to send until he realized he left the text on read for almost two minutes. Texting has never been so hard in his entire life. Jungkook ended up not sending any emojis. Instead, he informed Jimin that he's driving.
Jungkook: I'm driving home. I will be replying late.
Rushing home while looking forward to the notification from his phone. It's early in the morning for Jimin. Jungkook set up his Apple watch for San Francisco time too. He assumes Jimin might be getting ready, but so early. Is Jimin still up, or Jimin hasn't slept?
Another 'ding' comes up as Jungkook parks his car. His heart beats fast from excitement.
Jimin: I've been fine. Was getting ready for class. I'm also going to reply a little late.
Jimin:What about you? How have you been?
Jungkook: I've been ok. Work has been busy. I just reached my apartment.
Jimin:Apartment?
Jungkook: Ah yes, I've got my own apartment now. Appa thinks it's more convenient to commute. Also he thinks I deserve privacy since I'm 18 now.
