Prompt: I had no memories of that night, but everyone was acting differently toward me. I needed to find out what happened.
Author Note: So the plot of this story came up randomly when I saw this prompt in a prompt book I own. I guess this is what I always think about when I see something like this. Perhaps it’s the best reason I have for never wanting to drink any beverage with any amount of alcohol. Besides being under age of course.
The embarassment would be too great. Enjoy this story that I’m proud to say is not second-hand embarrassment because it’s never happened to me nor will it ever!
Jonny was walking to his desk at the office with his hood over his head. He didn’t want to be at work today and no one would blame him if they knew why. Which is a very good reason why. They were all reacting differently to him. Some were pointing and laughing. Others were gagging as if they saw something truly desgusting.
Jonny, on the other hand, was absolutly horrified at what he was going through in this moment. Who the heck did what to cause people to react towards him in this way? Most importantly, what the heck did he do to make people react this way. He had to have done something!
All he could think about in this moment was that he did something the previous night, and it had to have been at work. An office party? Perhaps he managed to be talked into doing somthing truly embarassing. Or he was drunk enough to do it without being talked into. Was it his idea?
“Oh my gosh!” He thought to himself, “Did I come to work without pants this morning? Jonny looked down, he honestly hoped to find no pants. At least he would then know what he did and know how to fix it. He can’t fix and issue if he doesn’t know what it is now can he?
His luck seems to be low today because Jonny was in fact wearing pants. He was actually wearing a very nice pair of pants today. What could he have done?
He seemed to have gotten his answer quicker than he thought because he opened his office door to a surprising sight. The answer was in his face! A trashed office!
He indeed drank too much. He also needed to check his social media. The situation just couldn’t get worse.
Checking his social media, the situation indeed got worse.
He posted a picture of a wrapped present with the words “To my boss from your favorite employee.”
The caption read, “This is a surprise present for my boss! I hop she likes it!”
Jonny took a deep breath. Maybe that was all the situation was. A picture of a wrapped present! Portraying that he had surprise to keep!
His luck doesn’t seem to have gotten any greater because he scrolled through to the nexr picture and found the preasent unwrapped.
Indeed, the surprise was ruined.
