The Bloodbath
The countdown had begun.
Every tribute was in their desined position in a big circle. They all looked around to better understand their surroundings and find their alliances.
This year's Hunger Games scenario were an apocalyptic type of town. Huge buildings that were overcomed by plants and moss, that looked to be one step from crashing down.
There was broken glass everywhere. The air was thick with polution that made most of the tributes' eyes tear up and their noses bleed. There was slippery moss everywhere and they were all very up in the sky.
Every tribute stood on a singular plataform that had a thin metal structure that connected to a building, where the cornucopia was. It was about 20 meters tall (65 feet) and they had two options: climb down the plataform, that had thin, unsafe stairs on the side, or walk across the metal structure to the building/cornucopia.
The countdown was almost ending when Niall and Harry spotted eachother. Suddenly, the noise rang announcing the first Quarter Quell had officially began.
Harry saw as Niall immediately started going back the stairs, while he ran as fast as he could to the cornucopia.
He was one of the first to get there, grabbing the first weappon he spotted, a butcher's knife, and killing the tribute beside him that was just arriving at the structure.
He could spot people not only being murdered left and right, but also people falling from the metal structure and being pushed from the builing. Muliple explosions could be heard announcing how many people were already dying. Harry could no longer spot Niall anywhere.
As he went inside the cornucopia, he killed another girl tribute on the way, who came close to slicing his throat with an axe. Harry took the axe the girl had and another one he found on the ground, grabbing a backpack and storing his butcher's knife inside it.
He put the backpack on his back, grabbed one axe in each hand, and now he was ready.
Around him could already be spotted several groups of previous winners that allied together. They were focused on keeping anyone else from reaching the cornucopia, so they didn't even notice Harry there. So he took the oportunity and ran to the exit of the building rooftop.
As he was almost gone, he hard "Harry is escaping. Get him, we need him on our side!" but before they could do anything about it, Harry was gone.
Day 3
Crazily enough, even though Niall didn't mind going to the cornucopia, by day 3 he was already gifted a better sword than he could even find inside that thing.
He had found a backpack at the bottom of his plataform the first day, so that meant that he wasn't struggling. Like, at all.
Niall had still to kill somebody, but he wasn't really looking forward to it. 11 tributes were already gone by the first two days, so there was just 13 of them left.
Harry was still alive, too.
Not that Niall needed him. He didn't. He was the favorite tribute again, so gifts wouldn't be lacking for him, but also he got even better at handling his sword over the last four years.
The truth is: Niall became extremely paranoid as soon as he got out. He had this eery gut feeling that somehow they would find a way to throw him back there. And they did. So, thankfully, he had spent every day of the past 4 year bettering his skills, just in case.
