5(part 2)

*Months later*

After the latest sacrifice the pastor said he had an announcement for everyone. Everyone all crowded around him and listened carefully.

" Everyone next week we will be choosing a special member to ascend to the heavens to be with our God," the pastor said positively.

Everyone started to get excited about it but Chester stood there in horror.

" Everyone place your names in this bin and the lucky winner will be chosen at our next session," the pastor continued.

Everyone stood in line to place their names and Chester hesitated at first but then placed his name.

" Now everyone it's almost lights out, please go to your appropriate rooms," the pastor finished. Everyone obeyed and left one by one.

Chester walked slowly thinking about what happened to get to this place.

*FLASHBACK*

They all stood around him. He couldn't see anything but knew something bad was happening.

Chester soon felt a sharp pain inserted into his arm. He cried out in pain but then felt numb.

He slowly forgot about what was happening, what happened before, who he actually was.

When he woke up he noticed a man entering the room with a tray

"Good morning Chester,"the man said
brightly. " I'm Pastor Emmett," he introduced himself.

Chester couldn't move but tried to get away. Emmett noticed this and pressed a button and it let him down.

Chester backed up when Emmett sat down the tray in front of him. The tray contained some tea and a sandwich.

" Don't worry nothing happened to it, everything is safe to eat," Emmett said softly noticing his sudden alertness.

Chester slowly began to eat the sandwich.

*END FLASHBACK*

The day of the drawing was here. One "lucky" person would be chosen to ascend and "meet the god everyone worshiped freely". Chester had his doubts about everything but before he could continue his train of thought was broken when he heard something that would change his life forever.

" ...and the winner is-," Emmett built up suspense.

" Chester!" Emmett said happily and everyone looked at him. He stared in horror. Suddenly a hooded figure brought him to the front.

"Alright everyone this concludes this week's session next week is going to be when Chester finally ascends to greatness," he concluded and everyone left one by one. Chester tried to follow but he was stopped.

" Now where do you think your going," Emmett said darkly.

" We have to prepare you for greatness now don't we," Emmett excitedly said darkly.

The hooded figure guided Chester and Emmett into a familiar chamber.

They threw him on the ground and locked the door.

"Training begins tomorrow," Emmett ordered. Chester never felt so scared before. He eventually fell asleep on the cold floor.

*TIMESKIP*

It was the day of the session. Chester was still exhausted from training he couldn't comprehend what was happening and what he was being dragged out for.

" Now you're going to repeat everything you learned and do everything correctly," Emmett said softly.

Chester nodded and began the ceremony. But before he knew it everything was dark with only the lights of the blue candles reflecting everyone's faces.

Everyone began chanting the words  "for the greater good"
Emmett rose and took out a blade.

Before Chester could run he was in the middle of everything and he was blocked in.

" Now, it's time for our fellow member to ascend," Emmett explained. " All for the greater good," Emmett finally said. He then stabbed Chester in the neck.

Chester felt the blood running from his neck. Everything was getting dizzy and pretty fuzzy. Chester felt his ears ringing and suddenly collapsed. Chester soon fell in the middle of the circle. Everyone continued chanting words.

Everything went black.
