I look at the funky text I sent him and smirk to myself, I knew Aera ever since we were kids, we had been close to each other, she obviously couldn't stay away from me, even at the ball.

Funny how she pretended to be someone else—it only took her scent to fill the ballroom when she walked in.

I was involved in organizing this masquerade party with some of the other guys, so I knew Taehyung brought her there, so I wasn't at all startled when the apparent power couple walked in. Despite the fact that he had her with him, she found me, devoured me, and then let go of me. While it was happening, it was undoubtedly entertaining, and the expression on his face was priceless when I went and greeted her later on.

The only thing running on my mind was about how ridiculous Taehyung was to think he could fall in love with a human again. The last time that happened, things definitely didn't end well. He was torn apart, just like I am now with him.

However, I still liked to tease him sometimes.

A memory of our earlier times surfaced as I was doing so. He was staying in my house for a while after his parents abandoned him as they learnt of his powers, of how dangerous he was when he let out the demon from him. He belonged to the same species as me, and my entire family was a vampire dynasty, so I understood that normal humans could never comprehend the power of such stunning beings.

I took care of him and let him whine about his ignorant parents who didn't think their super-natural son was real. I showed him how to manage his abilities and appear normal in a world tainted by humans. In my 897 years of existence, I never experienced loneliness. I've always preferred being with a lady.

My soul mate, Aera, was by my side for some of those years. The years before that I always had a woman to fuck. Obviously, I couldn't let my lustful hormones go to waste. She had once accidentally crossed paths with Taehyung when she was hanging out with me, but I'm not sure if he still remembers her.

Sometimes, I felt that the only human I could ever related to was Aera. At one point, it was hard for me to control myself whenever she was around, we even had feelings for each other, but figured out it wasn't meant to be.

It was upsetting me once more, a little jealousy searing my feeble heart that was once filled with only Aera, now that she has Tae's attention.

I liked to believe that Aera was created specifically for me. I shake up my useless thoughts when my phone starts ringing.

Incoming call from 'Taetae' , I smirk at the whole new drama about to appear now.

I answer the call with "Yes?"

"What do you want?"

"Aww did you miss me too?"

"I'm sorry. Who are you? ", he inquires, and I chuckle.

"Taehyung, just admit it, you're already deep into the human shit again aren't you?"
