Chapter 3

A/n: Sorry this chapter is so late my mom went to get the milk and stole over 20k from my dad and I. And when I had motivation to write this Wattpad kept crashing. And then she came back and left again😅 But I didn't wanna just abandon the book so here is all I got rn~

"Is now really the best time to play chess?" Ciel asked. Madame Red wanted to play chess with Ciel. "Obsessing about it won't help you solve the case. Why not just leave it all to Sebastian and Y/n dear?" She said. "Because they are simply my chess pieces. I'm the one who moves them. But those two aren't any ordinary pieces. They can move as many squares as they need to. Like that." Ciel said using a piece from the game as an example. "That was against the rules you know." She said. "Indeed. This would be if it was a game. But rules such as that have no meaning in the real world. There are always knights who break the rules and pawns who betray. Let your guard down...it's checkmate."

"You must have had other options in life then working with the underworld. I'm sure my sister, your mother, wanted something else for you. And yet after their deaths you came back to be the queens guard dog. Is it because your trying to avenge your parents murders?" Madame asked. "The need for revenge is a funny thing. It won't bring back the dead, nor bring them happiness. But then to answer your question I didn't return for revenge of my parents. I did it for myself. I want to find the people responsible for what happened. And I want them to experience the same pain and humiliation that I suffered." Ciel stated. "I still remember when you were born. Though it seems so long ago. You were so tiny and fragile. I remember thinking no matter what I have to protect him. I've come to think of you as my own son, which is why I wish you would quit this." Ciel gently moved her away. "This is my choice to make. I don't regret my decision." When it was time for her to leave you walked her out. "Promise me something. Say you'll never leave his side. This is a dangerous world for a boy, make sure he doesn't loose his way." You then curtsied. "Fear not my lady. I promise I will stay by his side till the very end." And you meant it. You don't make promises you can't keep. Grell was outside waiting for her. "I'm here to escort you back home my lady."

Some time had passed. You and Sebastian went into Ciel's room to talk about Jack the Ripper. "No matter how we look at it the results still the same." Sebastian said. "Yesterday's murder, the Viscount didn't do it." Ciel said. "Correct. No person can move that fast." You said. "Tomorrow we'll start." Ciel said. You weren't sure why you added that last bit but you did. All the events and details of all that's happened played through your head. And suddenly...you knew. You let out a small gasp that went unnoticed. "Sebastian, you did it." He said. "Of course I didn't my lord. I told you I never lie." He said. "So we know they have knowledge in medicine, black magic, no alibis for the nights the bodies were found..." You rambled. "The only human that fits our criteria is the Viscount Druitt." You rolled your eyes at Sebastian. He really does like to toy with his prey. "Y/n I saw that! You both know more then your letting on!" He stated. "But I'm simply one hell of a butler. As you know I only carry out orderes my master gives me." He then threw the papers in the air. "You need only say the words my Lord. And we can become your pawns or knights. Now master, move is to check." ..................
"Okay but who's gonna clean all this up? I ain't gonna be me I didn't say be all dramatic!"

You all then went out to try to find the next target. "He'll show up if we stake the place out. You know I've noticed the victims have had other things in common besides their profession."

"I still don't understand why he had to kill them all."
"So very loveable it could almost be a sin."

"Can't you be like Y/n and listen when I'm talking to you!?"
"I apologize sir but she's so beautiful." You smiled and rolled your eyes. Sebastian was always adorable when he sees a cat. But then you all heard a scream. "How could somebody have gotten past us!?" Ciel asked. "Let's go!" You said. The three of you then made it to the scene. And he opened the door and saw the body. It was extremely grotesque. "Don't look!" You said covering his eyes and making him back away. You tried your best to comfort him.

"You've made quite the bloody mess of things in there. Jack The Ripper or rather, Grell Suitcliff." Sebastian said. "No...no your wrong. I heard the scream and rushed to help." She tried to deny. "You can drop the innocent act Grell. It's over. You know this is the first time I've met someone like you in the human world. You played the role of helpless butler well. Your act had almost everybody completely fooled. "You think so..." She then looked up with a toothy grin. "How kind! That's great to hear. After all I am an actress. And a good one at that. Of course you both aren't really Sebastian or Y/n are you?" She said yassifying herself. "Sebastian is the name my master gave me. And he told Y/n to her own name. So that is who we are." Sebastian explained. "Aw your playing the faithful dog. Anyway here we are Sebastian! No...I'll call you Bassy. Let me introduce myself. The banners butler Grell Sluitiff. What do you say, let's get along." Grell blew a kiss that made Sebastian freeze to his core. This made you giggle which caused him to glare at you.

"I must admit I was surprised when I first saw you both. I've never seen a demon being a servant before." You scoffed. "Right back at you. Aren't you supposed to a neutral? Between man and god? Why would you pretend to be a servant?" You asked finally participating.
