I was preparing for the coding aptitude and Vidushi was still busy on her phone , I have never seen her practising any problem or anything else so I decided to scold her.
"Why are you wasting your time vidushi ?I mean I shouldn't be scolding you this way but we don't have much time before the test" I asked to Vidushi who was sitting on the small chair kept next to her cupboard,
"Sanyukta, I am not sitting for the placement. I am going to US for masters" she announced and hugged me
I hugged her back and then processed the information she has just provided me.
"US" I repeated and she nodded
I smiled , "but you never told mentioned about that before ?" I asked
"I wasn't sure before just a few days ago I decided to go for masters" she replied again taking her seat back.
"Oh! Congratulations!!! Vidushi." I said to which she casually replied "thankyou"looking back at her phone.
For the first time ever I felt the status gap between us. May be she never mentioned it before me because she thought it will hurt my feelings and also my pocket.
It could be anything but right now I in no way can afford masters in US. I got to prepare hard.
I went to the library to study , I saw Aditya and Jignesh together , concentrated on their problem.
as it was the placement time there weren't much seats available so I took the empty seat which was quite near to them. He was just sitting two rows away from me.
Jignesh literally ignored me and so did I.
I settled myself there and started solving the problem but then entered the biggest problem of my life.
"How is it going?" Randhir asked ,standing next to me.
"It's going good Randhir ,please do not disturb me" I replied , trying to focus on the problem.
"I have got a better approach, give me your book" snatching the book and the pen from my hand he started solving it.
He then went to another table took that chair ,placed it next to mine and continued his work.
"See, this is so easy" he replied. "If I would be sitting for the placements I am sure I would have rocked it" he continued praising himself.
Jignesh gave us a displeasing look and all this while his eyes were focused on Randhir , although we were not audible to him , our faces were still visible to them as theirs was to us.
"You ain't sitting for placements? then why are you here" I was confused as hell
"I saw you from window going in the library so I thought I should be joining you here" he replied, giving me back the pen and book.
"You are also going for masters in US?" I enquired, curiously.
"Also? Who else?" he furrowed his eyebrows.
"Vidushi" I replied with a chuckle.
"I should start preparing for the placement now. I don't want to be anywhere near her" he replied looking in the book
"but you have moved on ? and you don't expect anything from her more than friendship then why it's bothering you" I asked.
"I don't know" he replied.
In that moment I knew that he truly loves her and once you are in love you just can't undo it as they say once in love forever in love.
Randhir and I continued with a few more problems and then we both were tired.
It was around 8 in the night and soon the gates of our hostels will be closed.
"We should be get going Randhir , it's getting late" I suggested and started picking up my books and others stationary
"Yeah! I am also tired let's go"Randhir replied , getting up from his place just when someone from our class called out to Randhir "hey, Randhir if you can just help us out a bit then it will be great"
Randhir is a brilliant student and there are a very few gifted like him. Everyone loved him for his intellect but most of them hated him for arrogance.
Randhir waved bye to me and I nodded
