As the years go by, Minato grew up healthy and strong, with Menmas' guidance he was able to learn more about this dimension, it's history the dangers and how to act smart amongst those that trespass you.
Surprisingly, Menma was once a martial artist and a takewandow teacher before he retired due to his sight, but with his other senses he was able to home school Minato with his techniques which also helped his chi, Minato was able to make bigger energy blasts and speed, the more he grew the more advanced he is skills were, he could say that living with Menma was like having a family again, and he was very grateful the have him by his side

But every happy moment has an ending

Minato, now 18 years old, was just walking back  from the market, in due time he was able to go outside the cabin without Menmas help, of corse outside he's a handsome young man, but back home he releases his fox form since Menma couldn't see speaking of which, Minato was able to grow an extra 2 tales making 3 "grandpa, I'm back from the market" Minato imprinted on Menma since he was 7 so he calls him grandpa regularly, it strated as an accident at first but quickly became Menmas favorite word "now I know you said not to buy more than 2cups of ramen but, I couldn't help myself I'm sorry!" What answered was silence, odd, he was sure grandpa was home, he could smell his lavender scented candle being lit, those were his favorites, say that they put him at ease whenever he feels stressed "grandpa?" He checks the kitchen... nope not here, maybe he's sleeping? But the bed was empty, despite his loss of sight, Menma was able to keep his things tidy, it amazes Minato that a human like him could take care of himself for so long without accidents, well Menma wasn't born blind anyways Minato calls out the third time as he reaches the backyard and opens the wooden door it's creak so loud it could drown out a scream, he best fix that later, the back wasn't huge but it was filled with multiple veggies and flowers, that's what they use to make a living, Minato smiles and looks around, admiring the place while looking for- something catches his attention, a medium sized lump hiding amongst the daisy's, a little closer and he could see..... "Grandpa!"

"Here, I made you some tea" Minato hands a cup of green tea to Menma "thank you my dear" he takes a long sip enjoying the delicious flavor and the warmth of the liquid down his throat "Ah that felt good" he smiles in content and measures his breathing while Minato sat there and watched in concern and a bit of hidden fear "I can tell you're worried my child" he says with a smile "Grandpa.... I think we should call a doc-" "-I told you it's not necessary" Minato was cut off by a now serious Menma "but this is the third time!... please grandpa" Menmas looks soften "My child, you've grown up so fast, seems like just yesterday you were cowering in fear at the mere sight of me hmhm" he laughs wholeheartedly, this left Minato confused and upset, his grandpa's laughing at a time like this? But Menma still holds his smile despite it "my child, not everything stays the same forever....... You've just turned eighteen but..... I think it's time I tell you"

".......... I have cancer.."

Minato froze, from what he could remember, cancer is an incurable disease, it can be slowed down with treatment but you could still die at a certain amount of time you have left, "I've always had it even before I found you, it was already too late for treatment it was only a mater of time before my passing. I loved the wild life so I thought to myself... here... it'll end here...... but then. I found you." Menma smiles even more remembering the day he found Minato all bruised and with ugly cuts "and my dear, I never felt so happy taking care of you" he caresses his cheek Minato subconsciously leans in "by some miracle, you helped me live for 13 years, teaching you new things, helping you grow to the fine young man you are now even without my sight, I could tell how handsome you are, it wouldn't be long before you get admirers, and am happy to have been the one to raise you my dear Minato, I probably would've been long dead if it weren't for you"
