Sarada hummed to herself as she pushed her cart through the empty library, returning books to their proper shelves. It was another quiet night on the job, alone with her thoughts.

More and more her thoughts seemed to wander to a certain blonde. Every time she went to work now, she found herself hoping for a visit from Boruto.

But it had been three days and no such luck. He was a student too, he was probably just busy, but she couldn't help the nagging feeling that he didn't like her as much as she originally thought. Maybe he was only trying to be nice after getting totally creeped out by the fact that her drawings looked like him.

Sarada frowned at the thought as she shelved another book, but the moment she turned back toward her cart she heard the telltale clunk of a book hitting the floor. She glanced over her shoulder in confusion, finding the book open and its pages flipping wildly.

But then another distant book fell and began behaving the same. Dark eyes darted back and forth in worry as more and more books around her did the same, but unlike the night of the earthquake, the shelves weren't shaking. These books seemed to be possessed by a life of their own.

Panic surged through her body when the wild books took flight and began swarming her like a mob of angry crows. Sarada instinctively shielded her face, but that wasn't enough to protect her. She winced as the pages cut her defending hands, and quickly realized she needed to get out of there.

Sarada scrambled up and swatted the books away as best she could, but they were persistent, flying after as she sprinted through the library halls toward the exit. She anxiously glanced over her shoulder as she ran, hoping to put some distance between them. But when she turned back around an involuntary scream escaped her lips.

At full speed, she ran directly into the sturdy frame of Boruto. Thankfully he caught her by the shoulders before she could fall backward.

"Wh-What...?" she breathlessly uttered, unable to form a full question in her flustered state of confusion.

Sarada was about to look back to see if the swarm of flying books was coming, but Boruto set her aside and proceeded to make a series of weird hand gestures. Dark eyes grew wide as a huge blast of wind shot from his palms, causing the books to fall lifelessly to the ground.

With the immediate danger seemingly taken care of, Sarada leaned back against the nearest bookshelf, trying to find support for her trembling legs. Her chest rose and fell with each heavy inhale as Sarada attempted to catch her breath and process what just happened.

What the fuck was that? Not just the crazy crow books attacking her, but the odd power that Boruto displayed.

Before she could even contemplate the possibilities, Boruto was standing in front of her with concern swirling in his blue eyes. Her heart fluttered, somehow always caught off guard by his honest worry.

"Are you alright?" Boruto asked before ever so gently reaching up and tucking a few wayward locks behind her ear. His voice soothed her in ways Sarada couldn't quite explain. Her breath soon returned to normal, but her heart wouldn't stop racing. His proximity was making her skin feel hot.

"I..." she trailed off as her gaze fell to his lips, suddenly unable to articulate the thoughts swirling in her mind and the sudden urge that compelled her to touch him. Maybe it was the adrenaline that made her so bold, but the next thing Sarada knew, she was grabbing Boruto by the collar of his jacket and crashing her lips to his.

The feeling was something she hadn't realized she had been craving until she got a taste, but then Sarada sensed a hint of hesitation on his part. There was no way a flirt like him was inexperienced, which meant it was... indecision. He didn't want this. Fuck!
