Time had passed quickly that night and by the time dawn was peaking over the horizon Jo and Lucas had gone home, now with a better understanding of what was really going on it the world around them just below the surface. Valdis had taken to wandering the streets to keep an eye out for Master Vampire incase he decided to attack one of them, what was strange was he didn't. She didn't find any sign that he was even in the city, for some reason that bothered her more than the fact he could be hunting them all down. Deciding he wasn't going to show his face; Valdis went home to pack a few outfits to wear, but naturally fate threw its cards down and a loud inhuman shriek filled the air. She jumped in shock and looked around to find a blur of movement diving down from the sky towards people below, soon after three more followed.

"He made more!" She growled and walked into the kitchen to grab a few knives, one of which had a blade of pure silver so she would have to be careful handling it as well.

Valdis stalked out of the apartment building, knowing that this was most likely a trap set by Master Vampire to draw her out if she was still alive. If she chose to ignore this attack he would believe she was really dead and aim for her friends, but she knew she couldn't just let innocent people die for the sake of staying hidden, even if some probably did deserve it. Why he had chosen to attack when the sun was about to rise however, she didn't understand... or care much for that matter.

"Looking for me?" She shouted over the screaming. "Come on, let's fight!"

The first vampire, a light haired man with blood shot eyes spun around and growled out an almost incomprehensible word. "Attack!"

The other three let out shrieks and lunged towards her with claws and fangs ready to tear into her flesh. Valdis flew up in a cloud of bats and reappeared behind the closest vampire, a young girl, and stabbed the monster through the heart; causing another animalistic scream to fill the air as it died. She left the steak knife in the little vampire's chest as she moved on to dodge an attack from the surviving three. They came at her swiftly, giving her little room to move and keeping her from doing anything but going on the defense.

"Kill!" The first vampire hissed out and lunged forward.

Valdis ducked and rolled to the side. "Not yet!"

The three snarled in frustration and moved towards her again but she stood back up and held up her silver knife threateningly. They hesitated as they saw the dangerous weapon and Valdis had enough time to briefly wonder why the sun wasn't up yet, of course when the third vampire darted forward and tried pulling off her head she could see the storm clouds that had begun to appear in the pale dawn sky above.

The first vampire stepped closer as he got over his fear of the silver before calling out what could be taken for a joyous cry. "Kill!"

Valdis struggled to throw off the vampire holding her as the first vampire drew closer. Finally she went limp and felt the vampire holding her relax their grip, probably thinking she was dead. That was what she had to like most about newly made vampires, they had almost no control and didn't quite understand what had happened to them, not to mention how stupid they could be. As strong as they were and could be they were extremely weak unless they were educated in what their limits were. She twisted free completely and stabbed her restrainer in the heart with the silver knife, feeling satisfaction as it let out a dying sound, before kicking the first vampire away. It was then that she realized monster number two wasn't anywhere in sight.

"Still want to fight? You're all alone." Valdis sneered as she aimed her last knife at the first vampire's heart.

It screamed angrily in response and flew up in a horde of bats that swarmed around her so she couldn't see and could only swat out blindly with the knife. A heavy kick to her back sent her crashing to the ground and Valdis heard the knife skid across the ground, in the distance police sirens could be heard getting closer. She started getting up only to have the vampire's weight land on her spine and pin her down as another vampire came into sight, this one a dark skinned female with a stern look on her face as she was followed by Master Vampire, who dropped the second vampire's dead body onto the ground.

She snarled as he came into sight. "Just leave me and my friends alone! I don't owe you anything!"

"Why can't you stay dead?" He questioned, ignoring her outburst. "If you had stayed dead you wouldn't care what happens to your 'friends'."

"Do you think making more vampires to draw me out will make me help you?" Valdis glared at him.

"No. But considering you're still alive I have one more need for you before you might finally reconsider." He signaled for his two new pawns to drag her to her feet and hold her still. "How about after you see the mangled bodies of your dead friends? Killed by your own hand, then will you give in?"

"Then you won't have anything to use against me."

"We will see about that." He grabbed her throat as she tried getting away. "You will do exactly as I say without hesitation..."

Valdis felt herself falling under his control and tried fighting against it, causing her head to feel like it would burst. "...N-no..."

"You will!" Master Vampire snapped as he forced his mind control to get stronger. "Find one of your friends, act normally to draw them into a secluded place... and then kill them. Once that is done my power over you will fail, now obey me!"

She let out a sound that was somewhere between a growl and a whimper before going limp in the two vampire's grasps as her will was succumbed. "Yes... Master."

"Good." He backed away and the pawns released her. "Disperse, the peacekeepers will be here soon."
