Jeremy listened to the clock as it ticked back and forth, back and forth. The noise was driving him crazy.

Tick, tock, tick, tock.

He sat in the waiting room of a fortune tellers shop while his girlfriend visited the old woman behind the curtain. He could hear them whispering but couldn't understand it; it sounded as if they were speaking a different language.  At some point he thought he heard them doing a small chant but brushed it off as nonsense. He figured all the creepy things around the room were just making him paranoid. He was, after all, being watched by some animal skulls on the shelf across from him.

His girlfriend loved the spooky things that life had to offer. Jeremy, not so much.

He looked at the clock again. It was already getting late in the afternoon. He didn't have time for this, know one has all the time in the world after all, but his girlfriend had insisted she had to visit the old woman today. Felicity did this often, insisting that the older woman gave her the best advice. Jeremy was starting to guess his girlfriend was Wicken or some other religion than Catholic. He found it intriguing but he never asked her about it; he was giving her time to tell him herself. He wouldn't judge her.

It was Halloween and Jeremy wanted to get to the haunted house in enough time to not stand for hours in a line. Felicity had insisted on going to the haunted house as well despite his wishes of just wanting to stay home and pass out candy.

Come on Felicity! He grumbled in his head. What the hell was taking so long? She was supposed to have her palm read not share their life stories with each other.

Just as he was about to leave her  even though he knew she would get mad at him, he didn't care at the moment, Felicity stepped out of the room. She looked even more beautiful than ever.

Not that she hadn't looked beautiful when she had come into the shop; but, it was almost as if a light had been turned on inside her. Jeremy felt a tingle down his spine. She had that effect on him. It was almost as if his mind was sending him signals to run away while things below the belt were telling him to stay.

Felicity had those tall legs the you couldn't help but stare at. Her blonde hair was long and curled perfectly. The eyes though, that's what had made Jeremy want her so bad, were a deep, almost black color. They sucked you in like a black hole and you couldn't get back out. They appeared almost unnaturally dark against her the paleness of her skin.

"Finally." He said quietly. He wrapped his arms around her waist while she wrapped hers around his neck. Jeremy only stood two inches taller than her five-eleven. He ran his thumb along the small amount of skin that was visible on her sides as her shirt came up.

"Sorry, I had to," she whispered in his ear. The tingles shot up and down his spine again. The warnings in his head were going off but everything else seemed to be turning on.

"Let's go," he managed to get out. "The skulls over there have been staring at me and it's kinda creeping me out."

"They're just skulls Jeremy," she said coolly as she pulled out of his grasp. "That's all."

Grabbing his hand, they walked out of the little shop and made their way down the side walk. People stared. They always stared, just not at him, at Felicity. Especially the guys. None of them bothered to take into account that Jeremy was there. They still whistled. Even though he didn't like it he had to admit he knew why they did. He understood just how hard it was to control himself around her. He couldn't imagine what it must be like to be able to stare and never touch. He knew he couldn't do it.

Jeremy gripped her hand a little tighter as a guy with dark hair and piercing blue eyes walked towards them. To Jeremy and the man's surprise, Felicity didn't even acknowledge he was there. She just kept walking.
