Today sucks. And I'm not even
exaggerating. The first thing I did this morning was fall off my bed while trying to snooze my alarm, which had already been snoozed 5 other times.
I checked the time and saw that I was 15 minutes late to my first day at my new job, and I went into panic mode. I zoomed through my apartment, getting my best outfit on and making sure I look at least somewhat decent.
After my small bowl of cereal, I rushed out of the house and walked for at least 5 minutes before I realized that had left my phone on the kitchen counter. Now I have to walk back to the apartment building and grab it. I swear this day could not get any worse. (Hint hint nudge)
Now I'm finally on my way to work, for real this time. Thank god It was only a 10-minute walk otherwise I would've been fired already for being so late. That would suck even worse than today has already been. Like, imagine getting fired from your favorite place on planet Earth, the Rainy Day Café. No, that would ruin my whole year.
While I walk there I start thinking about what this job will be like. Will it be boring and I'll hate it or fun and the best part of my day? What do you even do at a café? Will my co-workers be nice? Will I even have any co-workers?
I get snapped out of my thoughts when I hear the bell ring. I arrived at the cafe, my new job, the best place on earth, whatever you want to call it. My nerves bunch up as I walk in and see that I'm already 20 minutes late, hoping that the boss will forgive me just this once.
There's a sign on a door in the back saying "authorized personnel on.". That must be the break room then. I take a deep breath before walking in the door to see Chan, the manager of the Cafe, sitting in a lounge chair in the middle of the small room.
"Um... h-hello?" I curse at myself for stuttering, but Chan doesn't seem to care.
"O, hello! Are you the new employee?" he asks with a big smile on his face. His caring smile alone helps me calm my nerves a bit.
"Yeah, I am. My name is Han Jisung. Sorry, I'm a bit late." I bow at a 65° angle to show how deeply sorry I am.
"It's totally fine, we barely have any customers this early anyway."
Thank God. At least I'm not fired on my first day!
"You can go ahead and get a uniform from that cabinet over there. Then I'll have your co-worker show you how everything works."
Chan points to a tall cabinet in the corner, and I head in that direction.
After changing into the restroom, I went out into the main part of the cafe to meet my co-worker Cha, who said he would help me. I was in a pretty good mood at this point, so I didn't have any worries when it came to meeting them.
Or I didn't have any until I saw who that said co-worker was...
The first thing I noticed about him was how smoking hot he was. I swear to Go, I think he's the hottest man I had ever seen in my 19 years of life. Even in the thecafee uniform, you could see his arm muscle. Wow, he must work out a lot. Wait, what the heck am I thinking?! I haven't even met him yet!
There was no way I was gonna be able to work with him without staring at him every chance I get. Why did I have to be stuck with a hot person? *insert dying Jisung face*
I noticed that I was staring at him, so before he could look my way, I stared holes into the tiled floor beneath me. Once I had collected myself, I went up to him to begin my training.
"Hello! My name is Han Jisung, and I'm your new co-worker!"
When he looked toward me, I saw his entire face freeze with terror.
