Shrunken down.

Chapter 12. Wanting the device.

 Tamara then headed away from the area leaving the city of Clearwater to Megan. Martin ran closer to Tamara's neck and he sat down and just took in the view. Martin as he looked out ahead from Tamara's left shoulder, he now saw for miles and miles across the vast landscape. Just then his cell rang, it was Rebecca.

"Hey, Rebecca."

Rebecca replied, "Martin, oh gosh. Hey, are you still with Tamara?"

Martin replied, "Yes I am. I am sitting on her left shoulder."

Rebecca replied, "She is all over the news along with that other girl Megan. Tamara and Megan are being talked about on every news channel. I have parked outside the town of Birchdale and I can see Tamara. You guys are over 20 miles away and I can see her as she is walking."

Martin replied, "Really, you can see her, wow."

Rebecca replied, "Yes and there are others here to watch. My gosh, she is huge."

Martin replied, "Just imagine if she decided to pay Coaldon a visit."

Rebecca replied, "My gosh, that would be scary. Hey Martin, a military Blackhawk helicopter just flew past me and it's flying around the town. There are several military vehicles headed this way. I can see at least 5 jeeps and some other vehicles heading this way. Why is the military coming here?"

Martin replied, "I don't know."

He hung up and shouted, "TAMARA, THAT WAS REBECCA. SHE IS AT BIRCHDALE AND SHE SAID THAT A MILITARY CONVOY IS HEADED FOR THE TOWN."

Tamara replied, "I can't let them get that device. Someone must have said something. I'll have to stop them, I make up an excuse that I'm protecting my town."

Tamara Sherring then began to run towards the town of Birchdale and as she was running the ground around her just shook and trembled with each step she took. Tamara came upon the town in just under 2 minutes and she came to a stop looking to her left she saw the military convoy that was almost at the town. Tamara stood between the military convoy and the town; she was right outside the town. The townspeople were out and as they looked at Tamara they were looking up at her massive backside. The military convoy stopped and looking down she saw 4 military jeeps; each had a machine gun mount. There were 3 military Hummer-style vehicles and two Abrams tanks. Coming up behind them were two Apache helicopters, the two helicopters stopped a few hundred feet behind the convoy.

Tamara put her hands on her hips and Martin stood up he walked a few feet forwards and he too looked down at the military vehicles. At the height, he was at they sure were small like tiny toys. Then one of the jeeps moved forwards while the others remained in their positions. Then a man got out, he had a megaphone, and he walked a few feet in front of the jeep.

He spoke, "I am Sergeant William Barry. We confirmed sources that you had used a device to make yourself that large. We can't have anyone as large as you walk around. Now I need you to hand the device over or tell me where it is so that you can be returned to normal."

As the military Sergeant spoke to Tamara, he sounded faint and high-pitched. Tamara did not want to hand the device over, considering that the device could be used as a weapon.

Martin said, "HEY TAMARA, DON'T HAND IT OVER, DON'T TELL HIM WHERE IT IS. WE NEED TO FIND WHO HERE CALLED IN THE MILITARY. ASK HIM WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU ARE RETURNED TO NORMAL SIZE."

Tamara squatted down and as she did all guns went up aimed at her.

Tamara said, "Sergeant William, now tell me. What will happen to me when I am returned to normal size?"

Sergeant Williams replied, "Well, you and your friend will be taken to a military base where several tests will be done on you to make sure you and your friend don't have any side effects. You will be kept on observation to make sure you don't grow again."

Tamara replied, "So I and Martin will be locked up in a military base hospital. I don't think so. You will not get the device."

Tamara then straightened up and took a step and she turned towards the town. As she did the townspeople went running away from her. Tamara saw her small house and she took a step forward then she reached out her right hand as it came down towards the town. The military jeeps moved forwards and gunshots rang out. Martin standing turned and he looked back and he saw the two Apache helicopters coming towards her. He then felt Tamara go down as she squatted down a bit. Tamara with her right hand hit the ground just outside her house and her fingers went into the ground and under the house like a huge excavator. Tamara then lifted her small house right up from the ground with a small piece of land and she straightened up.

Tamara then was hit in the back by 4 rockets fired from the Apache helicopters. One hit her in the back left shoulder about 70 feet from Martin who went running as he shouted. The other 3 hit her in the back. Tamara turned and as she did the helicopters turned, she quickly grabbed one with her left hand and as she did the propellers broke off as they hit her massive, larger than tree trunk fingers. Tamara brought the broken military helicopter up to her face and she looked at it. Her fingers were completely wrapped around the Apache helicopter only the cockpit was seen. Tamara then lowered the Apache helicopter down and she dropped it. The other one was still firing on her as were the military jeeps. The two tanks engaged her to no effect.
