A cold chill sliced down Harry's back as he waited in the shadowy road overlooking his former home on Privett Drive. Time and time again he'd promised his girlfriend a look at the horrible place he'd been raised, Weasley's had a knack for muggles.
From a few yards away, he heard the unmistakable crack of Apparation as his favorite redhead approched the quiet scene, his heart raced. Suddenly the weight of the ring in his pocket was unbearable, like it was burning a hole through the jacket. She took no notice of his bright red cheeks and did nothing but take his hand and continue walking down the dark street.
It wasn't long before the two engaged in a fanciful conversation about Quidditch and Harry's Auror work. Ginny skipped along with her red curls flying behind her, making Harry remember every reason why he loved her. Her curious nature, funny spirit, beaming smile, kind eyes, and her beautiful way of making anyone laugh.
Standing on the walk in front of Harry's old home, he knew he couldn't be a coward anymore. He fought off dark wizards for his job, and yet getting down on one knee to the most wonderful person he'd ever met was utterly terrifying. She stared silently at the home, her eyes bright with wonder of her best friend's past life at the Dursley's.
"Uh, Ginny?" said Harry timidly, knowing his life was about to change one way or another.
"Yes?" she asked, completely oblivious to what he was about to do. He took both of her hands in his and smiled,
"Ginny Wealsey?" he got down on one knee and she didn't do anything but grin. "Will you marry me?"
The words were hardly out of his mouth before she had her lips on his. Harry took that as a yes.
