She could hear the labored breaths of the man she was stalking.
He sure was loud- stumbling over logs, breaking sticks, and crushing leaves.
The fun had been going on for about an hour, surprising the girl, as she didn't think the man would be that desperate to live.
The man looked around, tried running in different directions, tried losing this insane fucking demon yet it only got him more lost.
Tears running down his face, hot sweat covering his entire body, he was ready to give up.
And she could smell it.

As he tripped over his feet, he landed on his hands and knees. He couldn't keep pushing forward.
He felt a harsh kick to his side, causing him to roll into a nearby tree.
His bright blue eyes stared up at the woman above him,
"Why are you doing this?"
He asked
"I won't tell a soul about what happened here, I-I promise! Please just let me go! This is torture!"
His body shook from his words.

The woman cocked her head to the side
"You call THIS torture?"
She rolled her eyes and laughed.
"Goodness Hitoshi! Imagine how your wife felt!"
His face visibly paled.

The woman leaned down towards the man, nearly feeling his heartbeat.
"Hitoshi.. I've got to give it to you man. You are quite the gaslighter! I almost started believing you there!"
She laughed to herself,
"You know exactly what you did."

The woman could only glare in disgust at the crumpled figure below her. Images of what happened hours prior plagued her mind.

"I'm not sure if your wife likes to be beaten every night, huh?"
She grimaced,
"Which, fortunately, is why I'm here! She's never going to see you again!"
The woman smiled to herself, getting excited.
For this was the best part.

She could drink up the fear in his eyes. His eyes nearly bulged out of his eyes and his mouth was agape, trying to form words.

Her nails were long, sharp, and quick to end his breathing. Her teeth barred ready to rip his throat to shreds.

The woman stood up from the mangled corpse, letting out a relieved sigh.
"I should probably go check on her, huh?"
She smiled and turned around towards the small cottage she chased the man out of.

She stood at the round front door and fixed her hair, combing out the blood that was mixed in.
The door opened and a young woman stood there. The young woman was shaking, she had a farm tool pointed in her hands as a weapon, you could tell she was afraid.

"I-I know what you are.. Please just.. leave me and my h-husband alone! You just caught us at a bad time, o-okay?"

The woman outside stepped forward and gently pulled down the makeshift weapon.
"I'm not here to hurt you, alright? I'm here to make sure you're okay."

The young woman thought she was hallucinating, this had to be a dream. A demon wanted to help her? No way in hell.
"That's impossible."
She shook her head in disbelief
"I don't understand why you would even decide to defend me. It's just-"
She dropped the weapon and dug her face in her hands,
"Nobody else has helped me, everyone has stood around and watched. I've been told that my marriage is normal- if anything he treats me better than most-!"

The young woman felt like the world was falling on her shoulders, and quite frankly- she could care less if the demon in front of her murdered her in the most brutal way possible.

She fell to her knees and broke down crying. She's been praying for a miracle but this seems more like a curse. Is she fated to be unhappy?

The demon woman knew what she needed. Without words, she helped her limp towards her futon. She quickly left her spot to search for a first aid kit.
She brought it back and sat in front of the young woman who seemed to be calming down, just playing with her thumbs.

The demon cleaned off the woman's black eye and the scratches on her face, she then moved on to inspect the bruise that surrounded the woman's entire neck. The demon couldn't help but wince.

She moved down to the woman's arms and it seemed to get worse and it went down. More scratches, more gashes, more bruises, some burns. How was this woman still living?

The demon finished bandaging the young wife and made sure she was full, hydrated, and safe before she even thought about leaving,

The young woman lied on her bed; comfy, safe, and warm. Something she wasn't used to, yet she had some questions on her mind.

"Hey Miss Demon?"
The demon turned around and glanced at the girl curiously, awaiting a question.

The woman cleared her throat,
"U-um, what's your name? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to but, I want to know who saved me."

The demon smiled and chuckled a bit.
"My name is "(Y/N)"

The young woman smiled at her lap and blushed a bit,
"Alright, (Y/N), why did you decide to save me?"

(Y/N) looked into the air for a thought. She should say something meaningful but make sure she doesn't reveal too much, she does that too often.
She smiled and gathered a single thought.
"You remind me of myself when I used to be human!"

She smirked after stating the fact,
"And no, I will not be telling you my backstory! I've got to be mysterious somehow!"

She glanced outside and saw that it was nearing morning, she had to go.
She sighed in disappointment
"Unfortunately, I have to go. I wish I could stay here longer but I've got things to do.."

She looked towards the bedridden woman with a smile.
"I hope we'll meet again."
