Powdered nuts

The space shuttle flew through the nothingness of space. It was 2083 and discovered a plannet with Life. Now they, the head space cooperation held in Beijing, China, was sending life to test if the conditions were liveable. A unit of about 21 men were being shipped off to this unknown land. It would take about 3 months to fly there with the technology they have today. Two of the members, Xi Lu Han, and Wu Yifan, were exceptionally close to one another. They trained together and worked in the same field for a while, and now the two co-workers were being shipped off to a new land to test their survival.
The space ship was crowded. There were 7 men per ship and each lived in tight conditions. The beds were cramped and they only had enough food for the 3 months. An additional shuttle was being shipped off with them for food/living supplies once they land.
Luhan glances out of the small round window that was conveniently placed by his assigned bed. Stars glowed in the distanced as they zoomed by. It was crazy how fast they menuvered through the sky once he looked out the window. He was fascinated. He took notes in a small journal he kept with him (even though no one is allowed to bring personal items), writing about how the stars looked, but there wasn't much to documents, considering they were in space and everything looks the damn same.
Yifan bent down from his top bunk, eyeing Luhan with a gummy smile. "Bored down there?" He joked before sliding down to his level, trying to act as swift and cool as possible before he smacked his head on the frame of his bunk. Luhan chuckled lightly and turned away from his, his cheeks dusting with pink as he doodled on his journal.
"There isn't really anything interesting." His voice was not too deep but not too high. It varied on the situation, if it was a casual conversation, his voice was more rasp and husky, but when he got excited or pisses off it would get higher. Yifan found it cute, and often teased him for it, even though he didn't have any interest in Luhan what so ever.
Yifan had a wife and child back on Earth. He kept a small photograph of them on his top bunk, speaking to them every night as if they could hear him. Sometimes he cried, he looked intimidating on the outside, but on the inside, Yifan was just a big fuzz ball.
"Do you need anything to eat?" Yifan pulled out a bag of his spare powedered peanuts.
"You gotta be kidding me? Jackpot! Where did you even find these?" Luhan took a handful of the crushes up nuts and guided them into his mouth. He swore powdered nuts were the best thing since carbon dioxide "pesticides" were invented. He was a biggy on green earth.
Kris laughed and slung his arm around Luhan, looking out the window at the thousands-billions of stars. "It's gonna be a long journey man." A long sigh passed through his lips as Luhan nodded.
