All I have to do is look at Beau and remember how we met. Well, unofficially, but nonetheless, we still met. I had listened to the rant of a boy and a girl beside me, they drone on about how ugly I am, and how I'm stupid. I scribbled out my name on my paper, feeling completely worthless and had decided that I was going to go home and probably let myself go. It wasn't uncommon to feel like that.

"What else could be wrong with you?"

Taylor, a bright blonde skater boy chuckles. I look at the red haired girl next to him. She laughs and they look to the boy who has just popped up behind them. He's tiny, with braces and a little fluff of chestnut hair. His eyes gaze deeper into me.

"You guys, stop."

He chuckles of the confused stares of the boy and girl and myself included. But then all I can do is thank him. His small body quickly sits back down and I go home and my perspective on life has been altered.

"Dude, what the hell? Amelia? Hello!"

Danielle waves her hand frantically at my face. I look at her and frown.

"Did I zone out?"

"We've only been here for two minutes, there's no way you're drunk."

She laughs and turns to face the wall. I look around for Beau and then I see a familiar body shape right behind me. My eyes meet his and suddenly I'm filled with butterflies and anxiety.

You saved me. You know that don't you?

I smile and wave at the guy who smiles and waves back.

"Hey, Beau."

I shout over the music. He comes closer to me, his face at least a foot away.

"What are you doing here?"

He yells.

"Finishing senior year with a bang. What about you?"

"I DJ with Jack and Carson!"

He shouts back after nodding to my response.

"I...think...here."

I only hear bits of his voice and I come closer so that my ear brushes his shoulder.

"What?"

I yell back. Another inaudible response. I roll my eyes and take his hand into mine, guiding him to the balcony that is straight ahead. The light caramel marble is decorated in kissing bodies and silly string. My hand lets go and Beau smiles as he stops midway to the end of the balcony. I pause and turn around to face him.

"What."

I ask at his disappearance from my side. He looks around at the other teenagers making out.

"Oh my goodness, I didn't take you out here for that. Ew."

I laugh and watch as he chuckles and stays put.

"I don't know. You're a freak. You could be setting me up to kill me for all I know."

I roll my eyes and gasp.

"Whatever, Beau. What were you trying to tell me back in there?"

I quickly change the subject before he decided to skip away like most times. He looks down and begins to walk to me.

"I didn't think you were the type to party."

He smiles and stares at me. I look over his white bro-tank and jeans.

It's chilly, I should've brought a cardigan.

I cross my arms.

"Just thought it would be fun to sneak out of my house for once."
