chapter 12 - pete

i reach at the gardening club and the phi's there tell me that i can help the others to decorate the stalls and campus with flowers and other decorations. then they handed me two boxes that had all the decoration stuff and told me if i needed a refill , i should come back here . 

i thanked them and bid farewell before walking towards the direction of the stalls. 

i hear my phone ring but my hands were heavy from this box so i couldnt pick it up. 

i heard it ring again and this time managed to get it out and picked it up 

"hello?" i ask
"pete i dont see you yet." vegas said 

"ah vegas i am walking to where the stalls are!"  i yell, as there's too much crowd here .

"ee.. you. " he says something but i am unable to hear it. its so noisy here!

"what did you say?" i ask 

"you.. i see you." he replies .

i try to look around but then from behind i feel hands brushing through my head as they reach for the top box that i was holding. i can feel this person's body pressing against my back .

startled, i turn around in a snap and see its vegas .

"vegas! you keep giving me heart failures!" i yell at him .

"why vegas again?" he asks as he holds one of the boxes in his arms

"what?" i asked confused

"you dont call me vegath anymore.." he says 

"pfft dont you hate that nickname anyways." i say as i chuckle

"....."  he stays silent.

"okhay! i will call you vegath again from now on! okayy nong vegathh??" i mock him .

"i shouldnt have brought it up" he says as he chuckles as well.

"too late!" i say grinning from ear to ear.

we put our boxes down and started helping with the decorations.
we also helped the seniors and juniors to move stuff.
because of us working at different stalls we couldn't talk much .

a senior told me that i can take break now .

i sigh heavily and stretch my hands and my back . suddenly, i feel something cold against my cheeks .

i turn around to see vegas holding two drinks in his hands . 

i take it out of his hand and say "thanks" 

i was about to drink it as he takes it away from me .

i look at him confused . and a bit annoyed cuz i was feeling super hot and he just took that icy cold drink away from me !

"its not for you. " he said as he closes the cap .

how dare he! 

i was now annoyed and angry . i turned around and was walking away when he held my hand from behind .

"what!?" i asked, annoyed .

"where're you going?" he asks with confusion written on his face.

wow is he mocking me!?

"to get a drink, that is for me!" i say as i shake his hands off me and angrily stomp away .

but he pulls me towards him again .and laughs lightly .

"what?" i ask, still annoyed. how dare this shameless asshole laugh ! 

"i meant this isnt for you . it's mine. here drink this one instead" he says as he hands me the other drink . it was a strawberry flavoured drink while his was lemon flavoured .

i was dumbfounded.

i think my face is red from embarrassement now.
you stupid peteeeee!!!

but now i cant help and overthink if what tay said could be true or not .

i awkwardly took the drink from his hand and sipped it silently as he laughed in the background.

our break was over and we were helping again . 

this time vegas and me were decorating the pin board with paper flowers . 

vegas was crouched and busy with his decorations .

"hey you are puting it wrong idiot!" i say as i take the pin and flower from him.
