I was in the cave when Daniel entered. I have your stuff, namely: a set of flints (you will never get a fire with them), bandages (already injured?), 3 kilos of game (how do you ever eat that?), a pan (learn how to make a fire first), and a bottle (this is the only logical thing on your list). That was all.
Did you really have to respond to everything, I asked? Be glad I'm taking it. Hey, did you move the wolf? Um, yeah, because I couldn't leave it here, could I? I buried him in the woods... Charity, Daniel said.
Well okay then... Do you need anything else? Shall I stay here? NO... er n-no that is not necessary, it will be fine. Okay then... Daniel turned around. Oh wait, I still have this one for you.
He gave me a dagger with a leather handle and a bow with twenty arrows. With as much money as I have, you can easily afford this, so you can have them, or you wouldn't be out of this woods anyway.
I looked admiringly at the bow. He is beautiful. I hope it works too, because you just do it with it. I have to go because it's getting dark already. Good luck. He turned and walked out of the cave.
Maybe he's not so bad... Grr... I quickly turned to the wolf who was breathing heavily among the leaves. There was a wound on his shoulder where the bullet hit him. I approached cautiously.
The wolf stayed down. Poor animal, not even the strength to stand up anymore. From the side you could see the bullet (and all the blud) and I decided to take it out first.
Carefully I gave the wolf some bogar mixed with game.
Bogar is a narcotic herb. It was all over the cave, and because my mother was a healer, I know many plant species, including those.
After what I thought should be half an hour, I tried to touch the bullet. When the wolf didn't respond, I decided to try and get the bullet out.
Within ten seconds the bullet was in the sand in front of me, with a pool of vomit next to it. I couldn't keep my stomach contents down at the sight of all the blood and organs.
I filled the bottle with water and used it to disinfect, then I connected it. I put some more of the meat in front of him and started to make a fire.
That was pretty easy, I had only hit my fingers twice. I took a branch with a sharp point and hung it, with some flesh on it, over the fire.
I ate some, threw some more wood on the fire, and rolled into my cloak. Think what I remembered before I washed up here. I was with Aunt Monica and we went to Australia.
I've lived with Aunt Monica since my parents died in a fire three years ago, when I was thirteen. I don't know how the fire started, and it was the police who told me they were gone forever.
I felt a warm tear slide down my cheek. After their death, I had gone with my aunt to my parents' old holiday home.
We came there often and I felt at home. I was always sad when we went home.
On the last day of my last vacation with my parents, what I didn't know then, my father told me that he had been traveling with mother.
They had sailed south across the ocean, as south as they could. He told me they had found the island his mother used to sing a song about. He had forgotten the lyrics, but he could still tell the story...
So this is the chapter, I liked the most to write this one, but I don't know why. Please leave a comment.(I know I ask it every chapter, but I like to read them so please...
I'm planning the next chapter on friday,
Bye for now,
Have a great day.
