Dear Elvis,

You are all too nice. I would definitely love to consider us friends. You actually inspired me to get this newspaper job. It's my dream to be a serious writer one day. Because I saw where you started and where you've been going, I decided to shoot for the stars essentially and applied here...just to try to get my foot in the door and it worked. Unfortunately my fiance isn't too supportive. He'd prefer a plain old housewife. Raise the babies, cook, and clean the house. That's just not me. I know, shocking! A woman who doesn't wanna have children? I'm definitely different. I feel different and lately it's been more evident how different I feel. Sorry, I'm rambling on about this nonsense. Well I'll enclose a photo of me so you can see who you're talking to. I promise, after this photo I ended up getting my hair teased. Now enough about me. I'd love to hear about you. Tell me everything!

Talk soon,

Ellie Rivers

Dear Ellie,

Wow you are something pretty little darlin! I suppose I'll have to send you a photo of myself. I took it the other day out in the field. Hope it's suitable. Also I'm absolutely honored to have inspired you to chase your dreams. You seem like you'd be a phenomenal writer just by these two letters. It's a shame you have a fiance....sorry was typing too fast...typewriters were never my specialty. I meant it's a shame your fiance doesn't support you as a man should. You have my support if that means anything. Plus, women who have ambitions are hard to find. Lucky to have found a friend as ambitious as yourself. Anyways, tell you everything? That's gonna be a lot to tell darlin. Where do I start? Well I was born and raised in Tupelo, MS with my mama and pop. I was supposed to be a twin, but my kid brother died at childbirth and...well you can put two and two together Miss Brains. I've always thought of myself being lucky and yet completely confused why I was the one meant to survive. Mama says, it's because of my talent in singing. I've been reading the Bible that it's because of divine intervention or something like that. Well Ellie, I'll leave you with that. It's your turn. You're a clever woman...now what were you like as a child?

P.S. You hair looks beautiful in that photo.

Looking forward to your next letter,

Elvis
