Ahhhhh....finally starting a murder mystery.
——————————————
Harry pov:
A  few murders have started a day ago. 3-5 people that I've interacted with back at Hogwarts. It couldn't have been death eaters, they were all locked up. "Harry! The ministry is crazy! They put you to be detective under the Smilers case!" Hermione came storming in with Malfoy walking calmly following behind. "What?" I said confused on why they would put me under the case seeing as the people I interact with are dying and all in one day.

"That's what I said! They have gone mad." Malfoy coughed to get our attention. "Since I'm included in this. They also have put me to help you with the case." He sneered when he spoke out 'you'. I felt slightly offended. As if I wanted to work with him. "As if I want to work with a Malfoy!" I spoke back strongly emphasising the Malfoy part. "Listen here Potter-" Before he could finish Hermione interrupted. "The lot of you shut it! Here is the minimal information we have of the 'Smiler' and the victims." I took the portfolios from Hermione and read through the small paragraph of the 'Smiler'. Or what is a pathetic excuse for a paragraph.

"Shove over Potter." Said Malfoy as he took the portfolios from me and shoving me in the process. "I knew that mumbling fool Longbottom would be one of them seeing as you've interacted with him." Malfoy spoke calmly but slightly impressed. I shove Malfoy back softly but still with enough force for him to move. Hermione has left by now so no interference. "I say we start by asking the families some questions, thoughts?" He looked up at me while he swiped off invisible germs where I shoved him.

"Do I have a choice?" I close the portfolio and put it on my desk. "Fine then, don't agree. I'll go myself." I spoke with a straight annoyed face. I grabbed my coat and heard shuffling. "I'll go only because you need me." I rolled my eyes at his statement and started walking out my office with him following.

(🏠) Cho Chang's house

I knocked on the door and stepped back waiting next to Malfoy. The door opened and a young but old woman opened the door. Which I'm assuming is Cho Chang's mother. "Hello, I'm Potter, Harry Potter. And this is my partner, Draco Malfoy. We are here to ask some questions of the night before Cho Changs death." She shakes our hands and nods. "Yes please do come in. We will answer your questions to your avail." We nod and enter the house.

She guides us towards the dinning room. She brings her husband down and they sit in front of us. I hand Malfoy a booklet with simple questions he can ask while I write what they respond with. "Where was Chang headed that night, if she was meeting someone speak." Malfoy spoke strong, stern and his words were thick. "She was heading to a café in Diagon alley. She was not meeting someone or not that we know of." I wrote her destination and nodded for Malfoy to continue. "Was there any sign of anyone targeting her?"

They both shook their heads and I wrote down 'No targeting'. "Who did she contact last besides you?" Her husband answered this time. "She spoke to her lover last and when she didn't call him yesterday he worried and came looking for her." He continued the questions for another few minutes and all we got was to go to her lover next. One problem, he's a muggle. We headed to his address and this time Malfoy knocked and he said I will ask the question. "Hello, how may I help you?" Malfoy spoke up before I could.

"I'm Draco Malfoy and my partner Harry Potter. We are here to ask questions regarding Ms. Cho Chang. We are investigating her case and you are one of the suspects." I nudged him lightly for him being a suspect. "How do I know you aren't lying?" Malfoy got a little annoyed and handed him both mine and his business cards. "Fine, come in." I thanked him and we walked inside and he leads us to his living room. I open the booklet and Malfoy opens the same notebook I used.

Cho's lover left to fetch some tea so Malfoy took a chance to insult me. "Didn't fix that chicken scratch hand writing?" I scooted a little further from him. He returned and sat in front of us after pouring tea. "You guys can start with the questions." I wait for Malfoy to nod and he turns to me and nods. "Where were you on the night Chang was murdered, if you were with someone do tell." He waited a second making Malfoy suspicious and writing his hesitation. "I was home with no one. I was playing video games." Malfoy looked confused at the words 'video game' and turned to me.

"Where was Chang headed, and was she meeting someone?" I asked another question and waited for his answer. "She was heading to a café and she mentioned meeting a friend." I looked over at Malfoy puzzled and he shared the same expression. "Which friend?" I asked more serious. "Uhh, someone named Lovegood?" I contemplated asking if Cho talked about Luna before or not. And I went for it. "Has she ever mentioned Lovegood before?" He shook his head, damn it. Minutes went by and we finished our questions.

I thanked him for his time and left the house while Malfoy was waiting outside. "Strange. Her parents aren't muggles. Wouldn't they have known that Looney Lovegood?" I smacked his hand my notepad. "What the hell Potter?!" I was getting annoyed of his childish antics. "Just shut it already. Though it might be strange we don't know which of them did it. All we know is the next person we're asking is Luna." Malfoy let out an annoyed sigh. "Can we do that tomorrow, Looney probably lives in some cabin in the woods and I'm not prepared."

I hesitated but it was getting dark and I didn't want to be with him longer. "Fine. Just meet me tomorrow at 12." He rolled his eyes and walked off vanishing.
