Did Kurt Cobain commit suicide
or was he murdered?
Following a recent discovery I have decided that he did not commit suicide and that in actual fact he was murdered. I have made this decision on the basis of information from Tom Grant, who is a private inspector hired by Courtney Love after Kurt went missing from the drug rehabilitation centre. It seems that Grant managed to find many pieces of evidence to support his theory about Kurt being murdered. Throughout his article, he mentions that it was Courtney who wanted Kurt dead as she had worked with her male nanny at an attempt to kill him. The reasons why, because Kurt was going to leave Courtney with their daughter and get a divorce. Now, this would make anyone angry and hurt so why wouldn't she want him dead? As you may know, Courtney Love is the singer for a popular 'punk' group called 'Hole' and it seems that just after Kurt died, 'Hole' released a second album where some of the songs had allegedly been written by Kurt for Nirvana. This was confirmed by Krist (the bassist of Nirvana) who said that indeed the song 'Old age' had been written by Kurt and was going to be performed by Nirvana but Courtney had rewritten the lyrics. Now, surely if the death of Kurt had been devastating for Courtney, which is what she made out then why would she change the lyrics, to forget Kurt maybe, you would have thought that she would have wanted to keep the lyrics as a loving memory. So that brings up the question, what was the relationship between Kurt and Courtney really like?
Also, whilst Kurt was in rehabilitation, one of his credit cards was being used and as soon as he was found dead, the credit card stopped being used. This suggests that there was someone, possibly Michael Dewitt, who was using the card and then thought they had better stop before someone caught on, luckily someone did. Michael Dewitt was in some what of a financial pickle and after Kurt had died, Courtney sold the house after an expensive redecoration, hiring Michael Dewitt's father for the job.
There are also other factors that don't add up when talking about the so called 'suicide'. Apparently when Kurt's body was found, he had high levels of morphine in his blood. Kurt had just come from the drug rehab centre so it seems that he could have injected himself but it was said that he had taken a shotgun bullet to the head so if he had have injected himself, why would he have shot himself as well, wouldn't the easiest way to go would be to just 'drift off'. From another perspective, if Kurt had injected himself, how could he have picked up the gun and shot himself as the high levels of morphine would send him off in to a deep sleep. It seems that there are two possibilities. Either Kurt had injected himself, seeing as he just went missing from rehab and then either Courtney or Michael tried to kill him by shooting him. This could be a possibility seeing as he couldn't have fought back on such high levels of drugs. Another option is that Kurt had simply ran away from the rehab centre back to his home because he had had enough and then this gave Courtney an opportunity because she knew where he was so she could go and kill him. She could have quite easily injected him with the drugs and then shot him as well; to make it look like it was a suicide, after all, no legible fingerprints were found on the gun.
The last thing to mention, and the biggest one is the so called 'suicide note'. It was reported that in Kurt's lake Washington home, police found a suicide note explaining why Kurt had killed himself. It was later said that there were two notes, Courtney had been hiding one! One of the notes was a suicide note (the one found at the crime scene) and the other was a note to Courtney saying how he was going to leave her. Of course, Courtney was devastated by the divorce she was facing so she wanted to hide the note, to show that Kurt hasn't got the better of her. It was said that she confessed to there being a second note several months after Kurt's body was found.
The real suicide note does not say anything about Kurt wanting to kill himself, all it says is that Kurt wanted to quit the music business because he said that it did not give the thrill it did when he was younger. He says in the note that he didn't want to pretend that he was having fun and he felt guilty because he turned to heroin to try and get some enjoyment out of making music. Kurt also mentions that he didn't want his daughter to grow up being like him and that he hates what he as become, and that's why he wanted to quit Nirvana. He never actually mentioned anything about wanting to die. At the end there is a bit which says how Frances would be 'better off without me (Kurt)' but after being analysed, it was said that this handwriting did not match that of Kurt Cobain's, meaning that Courtney had tried to forge Kurt's writing in order to make the note more believable. This suggests that Courtney must have been in possession of the note to add the ending which could lead to the idea Kurt had gone back to his house, written the note and then possibly took morphine because he had been so upset after writing the note. Then Courtney came along, saw the note and because Kurt was drugged up he couldn't do anything and then Courtney shot him.
In conclusion, the Kurt Cobain death will remain a mystery unless the case is reopened!
