Dani
The New Arrival

School is about to start again, and while I was nervous about whether our friendship would survive the discussion from last night, seeing everyone act normally gives me some relief. I guess I was worried for nothing.

“What should we do, Dani?” Yeoryeong, the protagonist of this world, asks. As for me, you could call me an extra or a supporting character who’s just there for the female lead. I might be nothing significant, but that doesn’t stop me from befriending them.

“It’s the Four Heavenly Kings!” Yeoryeong’s high-pitched voice nearly bursts my eardrums.

*Great, how am I going to survive high school with friends who are this ridiculously beautiful?* I sigh, knowing that a peaceful life is not in my future with these friends.

Eun Jiho casually drapes his arm over Yeoryeong’s shoulder as their fans cheer, admiring their looks.

“Don’t cry, Dani. It hurts me to see you sad,” Eun Jiho says, a mischievous smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.

*This guy is teasing me again!*

“I don’t need you! Thank you very much!” I reply loudly, letting my annoyance show.

*What? I’m in a different class? Me, the only friend of Yeoryeong?* The thought crosses my mind as I wonder if the author is planning to sideline me since Yeoryeong now has the Four Heavenly Kings.

“Excuse me—” My thoughts are interrupted by an alluring voice.

“Sorry, but could you move? You’re in the way,” the girl says to Eun Jiho and Yeoryeong with an innocent smile.

*Wow, I thought Yeoryeong was out of this world, but this girl is on another level.*

The girl has dark blue cat eyes and long black hair with blue highlights.

“And you are?” Eun Jiho asks formally, though it’s clear he’s irritated rather than curious.

“I prefer not to answer, young master,” the girl replies, meeting his gaze with no trace of fear.

“Do you know who I am?” Eun Jiho demands.

“Should I?” she retorts, walking past him as if nothing happened.

*Pfft—* Yeoryeong and I burst into laughter at Eun Jiho’s embarrassment, which only seems to irritate him more.

“Hello,” Eunhyung greets the girl, intrigued by the one who made Eun Jiho feel awkward.

“Is there something you need?” the girl asks, turning her attention to Eunhyung.

“I’m Eunhyung from Class 1. And you are?” Eunhyung introduces himself in his president-like tone, extending his hand.

“Hm, nice to meet you. I’m Y/N L/N,” the girl responds, shaking his hand.

“Your accent is unique,” Eunhyung comments, looking impressed.

“Was it strange? I’m actually from Y/C and haven’t quite gotten used to Hangul yet,” she says in English, as if she doesn’t know the Korean equivalent.

“No, it was cute. I’ve never heard that accent before,” Eunhyung says, waving his hands defensively.

“Really? I thought it was odd,” Y/N replies, looking down in an embarrassed manner.

“No, it wasn’t odd at all,” Eunhyung insists, looking intently at her.

“By the way, since you’re in Class 1, I guess we’re classmates,” Y/N says, pointing at the enrollment board.

“Then please take good care of me, Mr. President,” she adds teasingly.

“W-what’s with the sudden politeness?” Eunhyung stammers, his face turning red from the teasing.

“We’re out of time. Let’s head to our room now or we’ll be late,” Y/N says to Eunhyung as they both head down the hallway, leaving me, Yeoryeong, and the three boys behind.

“What was that?” Chunyoung breaks the silence.

“I know, right?” Eun Jiho, quickly forgetting about the girl’s rudeness, says.

“Wow! I’ve never seen Eunhyung so flustered before!” Woo Jooin exclaims cheerfully.

“Well, I guess this proves that love can be seen at first sight,” I say unconsciously.

“What—” I hiccup when I realize I said that out loud.
