I'm Sorry

Last breath

A couple of cars were following us and i quickly changed my route to a dense forest. I used to hide here whenever the police came.
The house was still there and i had the keys in the car. We took shelter till we could hear no more cars. "Do you mind telling me why we are here?" He was breathing heavily, struggling to talk. "I'm so sorry about all this, I'll explain to you later i promise. For now, we have to hide here." I tried not to break down in front of him knowing that there is a fair chance of death.

Who knew so much could happen in a day. My phone kept vibrating in my pocket and before i could pick it up, i heard a gunshot in close proximity.
Jaewon was sleeping peacefully, and i looked at him for the last time before heading out. I saw Z with his Men and Grace being held with a gun to her head. My vision got blurry at the sight and i almost collapsed.
I got a hold of a tree branch just to see that Z is smiling at my state. "My princess, do you think i did not know about all of this. I'm a mafia sweetheart, i know everything. It was stupid of you to try and save him when you know it's not possible. I caught Grace visiting you often, and it's not nice to let my child visit her enemy. So watch her die. Any last words, traitor?" He held the gun closer to her. "Save him girl." A loud shot was heard and there was nothing but silence.

I couldn't comprehend the fact that my best friend was dead, shot, in front of my eye. I fell on my knees and burst out crying. Z kept coming closer to me.

I ran back into the house to wake Jaewon up. My eyes were filled with tears, falling off one by one. Z and his men ran after me. I got my gun and shot a couple of them but they got a hold of me and that's all i remember.

I woke up in an unknown place, tied up beside Jaewon. I called out his name but he didn't respond. "How does it feel to see your love die in front of you princess?"
"Don't you ever do that again. I hate you for all that has happened. Why didn't you just kill me too?" I cried out.
"You looked useful, so i took you under me. No feeling for you as a daughter. So you get to die too." He laughed like a maniac.

I got off the rope and then shot him at his heart. I tired to untie Jaewon but someone grabbed me from behind. It was not easy but i managed to get Jaewon up on his knees. "what is going on here, why are you .. wait wait wait.." and he passed out.

I felt anger rushing up to me and punched the men and shot them to death. I picked up Jaewon and ran to a near by room.
He was not breathing properly. "Jaewon, pumpkin, wake up please," i pleaded hard. He opened his eyes just to see me, a crying mess. I begged him for forgiveness.

"Sweetness, why are you saying all this, what happened to you? Look me in the eye huh. It's alright, don't be afraid, I'm always with you okay!" He sounded so reassuring but little did he know what she was going to say next. "I'm really sorry, for lying to you, for playing with your feelings, i deserve all of this, please forgive me please." And a bullet hit her chest.

She was gasping for air. Jaewon couldn't hold his tears back, he was trying his best to save her. "Dont worry about me, go live your life, and forget me please." She tried with all her might to speak out a simple sentence. He couldn't take all of this in, his love was dying and he was helpless. "Honey please don't leave me, i only have you left, please. Don't die."

He was trying not to scream and kill himself right there. Her pulse was slowly dropping, and her face started getting pale. Cold air was hitting her, making the situation worse. He was losing her. Their memories began playing infront of his eyes, their happy times. She finally gathered all her breath to say, "I'm sorry."
