After what felt like a day Alex and Katie met up at school. They didn't know what to do so they just sat there for a while.

Alex POV-
When I saw Katie coming up to the school gates WALKING I shouted "HURRY UP WILL YOU!" She sped up just a bit more and finally got inside, I locked the gates behind her.

Katie POV-
When Alex locked the gates behind me, I realised something "How do you have the keys to the gates!?" They stared at me "Uhm that's a story for another time!" Confused I walked away and looked around not remembering what the school looked like as we were on our holidays. The silence grew around both of us. I knew that Alex wasn't gonna break it so I decided to say "SO what's the game plan" "Hm? Oh uhm probably just chill for the rest of the day and go try find some survivors, food, water, clothes and all that tomorrow." They said obviously fed up or tired. I didn't know but I didn't want to ask. They looked so emerged into thought that they didn't care about anything else. What was up with them?

Alex POV-
Katie knew that there was something up with me. She kept looking at me as enough to say 'I'm here for you' or 'do you need a shoulder to cry on?' or something like that. As a matter of fact I did need a shoulder to cry on because I feel like my parents have already been infected, seen as they worked in the lab that created them, and as for my siblings, only god knows where they are, that worried me. I didn't want to tell Katie because I knew she would overreact or something. I tried to keep my feelings inside until I was alone. But of course, I was never left alone, she was always there and I only got left alone when I went to the bathroom, but if I took to long she would come to find me. I knew I had to wait until she was asleep.
