Part I

A bolt of lightning tore across the night sky, illuminating for a brief moment the raging sea and tumultuous clouds.

In that moment, when the night sky shone with unnatural light, two figures could be seen facing off against each other. On one side a red creature with a horn shaped head and long angled arms levitated above the sea. Eyes of merciless yellow peered out from under a triangular helmet of crimson. Arcs of blue lightning rode up the two rod like arms that were poised out on either side of its tiny body.

Opposing the red creature was a creature coloured pure white. With a round head atop an equally round but elongated body, it had two handless arms and a pair of blue metallic eyes that shone out from its head, surveying its opponent with equal killing intent.

And then the sky was plunged once more into thick, almost touchable darkness.

The battle began.

An arc of blue light flashed as something slashed with blade-like vengeance in the dark sky. Plumes of white light burst as something else pounded with equal vigor. The explosive power of their battle shifted dramatically across the sky as one retreated and the other attacked, then the first struck back and the other dodged.

In the darkness of that night, all that could be seen were these flashes of energy released when one side struck at the other. Like this, the evidence of their battle left its mark on the dark night sky. Wind burst outward as the two clashed. Metallic screeching noises as well as some beast-like cry sounded out in the eerie night.

And then suddenly, with a vigor surpassing every previous strike, a single burst of multicoloured light carved a deep hole in the surface of the sea itself and sent one of the two creatures flying through the air like a comet to crash fatally into the waters of the deep.

One second, five seconds, ten seconds passed. Another bolt of lightning illuminated that dark place, but only the red creature remained, looking across the surging waves with its piercing eyes. However no evidence of the white creature could be seen any more.

As the thick darkness returned all evidence of the battle disappeared, replaced with the mundane howl of the raging wind and the violent surging of the sea.

Part II

"That's just weird!" Feioha remarked with exaggeration. "Who would seriously try to catch a stingray with their hands and then do a stupid looking dance while standing on a canoe?"

"Maybe he got stung?" Coco suggested as she and her friend walked down the sand dunes towards the beach.

"Maybe he was drunk!" Feioha laughed.

"Haha, maybe." Coco laughed. "But I still think he's pretty brave."

"He's the toughest warrior in the village." Feioha said, shrugging, "It's his job to be brave."
