Hania's life has taken a huge turn after that fateful evening and her alone, peaceful life was not the same anymore. Saad has taken it upon himself to be her friend and she did complain in the beginning but now it was an everyday thing. And Hania was actually getting used to his presence, which sometimes terrified her. The fear of what if he too leaves her one day was still there and she tried her best not to get used to him, but she was failing miserably.
It was another fine day at the college and Saad was walking casually in the campus corridors, with a phone in one hand and books in the other. He was in a serious conversation with one of his friends when he felt a tug on his arms.
"Saad..." Hania called his name with a sugar-coating voice which left him so shocked that, he literally dropped the books which he was holding.
"Are you alright? Did you catch any fever or what?" Saad tried to check her temperature but she slapped his arms slightly with a frown and bent to pick up his books. He was still in shock over the tone of her voice.
"Here. Take this." She placed his books on his hands who was looking at her with wide eyes. And started to drag him along with her.
"Excuse me, madam? Where are you taking me?" Saad asked with a hidden smile as he eyed her hands which held his.
"We are bunking the college," Hania informed with a mischievous smirk and Saad widened his eyes at the new piece of information he just received.
" WE WHAT?" Saad couldn't contain his excitement but Hania stomped his foot with a hiss and said, "don't yell. I don't want to get caught."
They were literally in the college corridor with so many students around them and anyone can hear anything and Hania did not want that.
"OUCH!" he yelled again which made her stomp him again.
"This is abuse!" Saad whined but Hania started walking ahead to the college library, with her hands still holding his. He smiled at the fact she was actually taking him along with her in her crime, this only meant one thing.
"But, wait... I have a condition." Saad smirked mischievously hearing which Hania stopped, "what?" she raised her eyebrows at him.
"If you want me to come along with you, then you should promise me that you'd let me copy your assignments?"
"Saad, you're going to copy it anyway, so what's the big deal?" Hania rolled her eyes at him, he grinned widely and said," it's true. But still, promise me."
"Yeah, fine. I promise. Now shall we go?" Hania was getting impatient.
"But why the library?" Saad asked a little confusedly.
"Because the library has a secret door which takes us outside and there's no camera out that way." Hania smiled evilly.
"You're a genius."
"I know, Saad. I know."
"You know... I feel like you've finally accepted me as your friend." Saad grinned as they entered the library, hearing which Hania paused. And wondered, did she really?
"I don't do friendships, Saad," Hania mumbled but Saad waved his hand with a chuckle.
"Deny it all you want."
"I don't know. You're kind of nice and a really good fri-end. You're even bunking the college with me." Hania paused when she saw two other people already in the library.
"Guys! What are you both doing here?" came the enthusiastic voice of Mayra, listening to whom Saad beamed at her. Seeing the look of happiness on Saad's face for Mayra, Hania suddenly felt something which she has never felt before. She felt jealous. Jealous of the friendship which Saad and Mayra shared and it made her feel hopeless. For the first time ever, she regretted not making friends.
