The order was simple; to create the world's greatest superhero. Nick Fury had given the order to Bruce and Tony after Ultron's defeat. They were to use the Avenger's, old and new, DNA to create a new superhero. The child would be carried by Maria Hill and raised in secret, away from those who created it and contributed to it's DNA. They agreed because they knew that the Avengers would eventually have to retire and pass on their legacy.
Though it took them a few years finally, on the 27th of May 2021, Maria Hill was implanted with an embryo and sent far away, once the child was born she was ordered to move every eight months to keep the child off the radar of any enemies of the Avengers. The child would go to school to learn how to interact with other people, but Maria would teach it things that schools would not, like self-defence, many languages and how to use the powers it would get.
On the 18th of February 2022 Maria Hill gave birth to a baby girl. In honour of those who had created her and those who had chosen to sent her far away Maria named her Legacy Avenger Shield. It would be years before she would be ready, but Maria knew that the tiny girl she held in her arms would one day save the world.
