Chapter 16: Awkward Encounter

It has been a couple of days since Team elven mission encountered a ninja fox and ninja Lioness. Since then, they have been doing simple D-rank missions involving dog walking again, cleaning the trash in the park, and babysitting. It wasn't exciting, but they knew they had to do the missions.

When they completed the last mission, Mizuko had pulled them aside before dismissing them for the day.

"Okay, tomorrow I want you all to meet me at the Sushi restaurant at noon," She said."Now you're dismissed for the day. Kaito, can you pick up your siblings later?" She said.

"Yeah, I can do that," Kaito replied with a nod of his head.

"Good aee you three tomorrow," Mizuko said, disappearing in a cloud of smoke.

"Well, see you both tomorrow. I'm going to do some training and then heading to the library to return a book," Kei said, turning around to head toward the training ground her team usually uses.

"Alright, catch you around then," Akira waved goodbye.

"Yeah, catch you around. I'm going to start heading to the Academy," Kaito said.

"Alright," Kei replied as she walked off to go train for a while before setting off for the library.

Kei arrived at the training ground and started working a bit on her shuriken throwing as a warm-up before getting into the more serious part of the training she had planned.

She threw the shuriken and went with great accuracy as she hit the targets on the rocks nearby, not missing a single one.

"Alright, now let's try working on trying to use my mother, Kekkei Genkai," She whispered, trying to do one of the justu she found in her mother's scroll.

She made hand signs as a purple crystal slightly started to form on her arm before it came undone. She sighed, seeing that she would need someone to help her, but she didn't know where the other clan members had been living since the attempt to kill them.

'Alright, maybe I'll work on something else for now.' She thought as she made hand signs and created a shadow clone.

"Okay, I'm going to try and bind you, and I want you to try and break free," She said to her clone, who nodded as she made hand signs as the earth rose up and bind it around the clone who tried to break on free. The bind started to break slowly as the clone tried to break. She clasped her hands together as she tightened the bond as th welcome continued to try to break free.

She sighed as the clone broke free but smiled, seeing she could keep it held longer than she did with the lioness.

"Not bad for a rookie," A voice said from behind her.

She turned around to see a boy older than her with silver hair and glasses wearing a leaf headband.

"Thank you, but who are you?" She asked, looking at him curiously.

"The name is Kabuto," He said as Kei stood on up and looked at him.

"Well, Kabuto, can I help you with something?" She asked.

Kabuto shook her head. "No was just going through a walk and saw you training. I hope I wasn't bothering you."

"No, it's fine since you're here. Do you mind helping me train?" She asked.

"You seem to be doing fine on your, but sure I don't mind helping you," Kabuto said, pushing up his glasses.

"Great, help me with my taijutsu, please," She said as Kabuto nodded, and the two got into a fighting stance.

"I won't make this easy even if you are only a rookie," Kabuto said, pushing up his glasses. Kei smiled.

"I wouldn't want you to," She said.

Kabuto charged toward her and punched Kei as she dodged, ducking down and sending a kick to his stomach. He moved to the right and swung a foot underneath her and hit her leg, causing he to lose her balance, but she caught herself before she could fall.

"Nice recovering," He said with a nod. She nodded back.

"You sure your not holding back?" She questioned as they ran forward as they, swung punches, and caught each other hands.

"Maybe I'm," Kabuto smirked as he kicked her to the ground and held her down."Or maybe I'm not."

Kei looked at him and blushed slightly ar the fact a guy was so close to her."Are you trying to flirt with me because that is what this looks like," she said.

"You are a beautiful girl but don't worry, i'm not flirting with you, just messing with you," Kabuto said, getting off of Kei.

"Good because I like someone else," She said, blushing.

"I see, so you already have feelings for someone," He said, pushing up his glasses. She nodded, not knowing why she felt so at ease with Kabuto."Well, I'll see you around, Kei," He said with a wave as he walked away.

Kei just stared at where Kabuto was, confused about why she felt so comfortable around Kabuto. She sighed as she headed to the library to return her summoning book before heading back on to her and Anko's home.

Kei was now sitting in her bedroom reading some more on th Sannin. So far, she learned that her father was known as the genius on his team and known for summoning snakes.

'So my father summons snakes, and he the genius of his team. He seems incredible, but why does everyone dislike him? What kind of things did he do to be a rouge?' She thought as she continued to read more of the book, wanting to learn more.

A knock was then heard on her bedroom door, pulling Kei out of her thoughts.

"Come on in, Anko," She called out.

Anko opened the door and stuck her head inside the room."Dinner is ready," She said.

"Alright, I will be down in a few," She said, closing her book.

"Okay, see you downstairs," Anko said, leaving the room.

Kei then headed downstairs to eat dinner and then was going to get ready for bed after she was done eating dinner, which she soon discovered was some soup.
