Lucy wakes up . . . She hears silence. She realises her mum must be still asleep. She decides to do something kind for her mum. Lucy has the thought of how much her mum will appreciate a nice cup of tea. She would do this to her dad but he is fighting in wars around the world. Her dad is an official member of the army. Lucy missed her dad like a puppy left at home. She creeps out of her cream stained mattress. Her dressing gown stuck in her shorts. It was a strange feeling knowing no one else was awake. Lucy felt like she was the only person on earth. As she reaches the door, the rusty, authentic knob creeks as it turns. The sound is an ear-piercing, scratching sound. She reaches the kitchen, narrowly waking her mum. The kettle whistled as it boiled, Lucy clenching her face with the noise, hoping it won't wake her mum. She finally poured the milk in her mums tea. As she makes her way up the stairs, she hears a whining coming from her mum's bedroom. When Lucy reaches her mum's bed side, she realises she is in deep pain. Lucy has known for a long time now that her mum was pregnant but didn't realise it may be this soon. Lucy's mum didn't managed to get up and slowly falls back on to her goose-feather pillow. Lucy is so scared, she doesn't know what to do...
